I'll add the number of votes and number of number 1's to the 25, and I'll just get the runners up over and done with in the next two days.

Expect the list to be completed by Sunday, that way you have a general idea of the timespan it'll be posted between.

Isnt 25 films from one year kind of a BIG list? I mean, how many of the 25 have been heard of by most people? Just curious.

Its kind of got that "feel-good" thing working like they do in scholastic sports where EVERYONE wins and everyone gets a trophy...ya know?

Wouldnt Top 10 or something be more realistic?

With hundreds of films that come out ever year...A top 25 doesn't seem very "feel good". It's just the top 25 our blu community voted on. People see hundreds of films throughout a year, why knock a practice we've been doing for years?

For people who see 100-200 films a year, a top 25 isn't unrealistic. I don't see a problem with it

Well, there will be a top ten. So you can just read that if you prefer

I went to the cinema 152 times last year and saw 140 different films including 100 'new' releases (as opposed to re-releases of pre-2013 films) and I found whittling it down to a top 25 meant missing out ones that I really enjoyed. So when you also consider how many different films all the members of this forum will have watched and enjoyed over the year then a top 25 seems pretty spot on.

Well considering 210 films where voted for in total, 25 is quite fair amount (any way we're doing 25 runners up as well.). It's the way it was done last year and it's a good way to get people aware of some of the films they missed. We limit it to a top 10 then it's simply a popularity contest.

Only one from my list thus far, The Act of Killing. The combination of the subject matter and the fact that it probably wasn't a widely seen film makes me happy it simply made the top 50 at all.

Lot of blockbusters showing up early, can't wait to see the top 20

So far, I don't mind seeing these titles early. All of them were enjoyable watching, but I wouldn't call them best of the year.

Still have to see Act of Killing. Heard lot of good things about that one.

Also haven't seen the Kings of Summer, but I don't have the desire to see that yet.
