Default BOGO and "5 free" deals: An opportunity to get more Blu supporters

many of us have taken advantage of the b1g1 free sales as well as the 5 free mail in rebate.

I just received my 5 free movies and found that they replace 2 of my choices with other titles. probably due to paramount's mistake. being that I already had the titles I gave them to friends who have ps3s but no blu ray movies. also one of the b1g1 titles I got a little while ago was kung fu hustle. it was funny, but I couldn't watch it more than twice. so I gave that to another individual who has a ps3 but no BDs. since then each of them has gone on to buy several titles themselves.

I think it would be good to try this. if there's a b1g1 title you like but only 1, pick up another and donate it to some one who may not know the awesomeness of blu ray. and instead of returning any duplicate or unwanted ''5 free movies'' titles for store credit somewhere do the same. spread the word.

its like the feeding of the 5000 parable. 3 BDs have become about 12.

edit:

these people prior to the donations where fairly adament ''i don't see the difference, at least enough to pay more for it'' people.

That's not a bad idea.... It's kind of like taking the word of mouth argument to the next level.

Thats a great idea!

All it takes is one and it will give people incentive to buy another.

I started giving out the DVD versions of movies I have on BD to friends as prizes (at our Halloween costume contest) but there might be one or two BDs I would be willing to give to someone... too bad I don't know anyone else who has a PS3 or BD player. But I am getting them more and more convinced.

I just mailed away my BR get 5 free - most are crap that were already destined for the delete bins....maybe they will replace them with good movies.
