Wow! This has been on want list forever! I'll order today, it simply has to be better than the old non-anamorphic R1 DVD. Looks like a no-frills-edition though.
Thanks for the heads-up!

Ordered one myself, not seen any online reviews. Curious to see what the disc quality is like.

Went for it, too. Also ordered Peeping Tom to get free shipping and VAT deduction - was tempted by Knife In the Water and Premature Burial, but the former has no english subs and the latter is 1080i, so I guess it won't be different from the german Blu I already own.

Popped out this morning to come back to one of those lovely red "whilst you were out we attempted to deliver " cards.
Will pick it up at the depot tomorrow morning.

I couldn't wait and ordered it along with a German BD to share the P&P. The German disc was posted a couple of hours before DMDWP and arrived this morning. Grrr

Edit: I just got it this morning. I'm writing this while drinking my famous java.

I'm a bit disappointed that the cover is in colour and the title didn't translate into Italian as it doesn't mean much in English either.

The picture is as good as I could expect, it's region free and it has a nice poster on the inside of the liner.

My copy arrived today. I am blown away by the picture quality. The classic clips used obviously aren't going to be great, but everything else is. I highly recommend this for fans of the film.

Shocked this one is getting a Euro release, but I think I will order this in the next couple of weeks. Anyone want to comment on the audio included on the disc. Is it DTS HD 2.0? Sounds like a decent release.

It is. And sure this is a nice disc to have. I gotta keep the DVD, though, just because of the superior cover art and the trailer wich sadly is nowhere to be found on the Blu. All in all, a very pleasant surprise - I had almost given up hope.

I bought this when i was in Milan recently. Picture quality is fine but it's obviously not an authorised release. There is no Universal copyright notice, or any other copyright indication. The box gives the label as Pulp Video although neither that or any other distributer is shown when playing the disc.

Browsing the shelves of DVD and BD releases in the numerous Milan stores, it's remarkable that so many discs (mainly DVDs) have either no copyright or obscure copyright notices. As with Spain, Italy is a wonderful treasure trove for lovers of classic films with vast numbers of titles from the '30s and onward available but few of them seem to be legitimately licensed. Why and how such a situation has come about I have no idea because copyright regulations are supposedly harmonised throughout the EU.

I finally watched this last night and, apart from a couple of scratches in the final scene, I thought the picture quality was amazing. Possibly too good as it made the transitions to the old films even more obvious

It might be the same format but I picked out sounds that I'd never heard before on the Blu-ray - Great for DD mono
