ODC Nimbus HDBD LBR Breakthrough Successfully Proven for HD-DVD and Blu-ray Formats

September 15, 2006

Deluxe Digital Studios (DDS) announced today that the ODC Nimbus HDBD Mastering System installed at its State-of-the Art facility in Burbank, has achieved consistent and reliable results for both of the proposed Next-Gen DVD formats. The “Switchable” HDBD LBR has been used in daily production at Deluxe Digital Studios since late last year and has become the work horse of the mastering facility.

Gregg Johnson, VP of the Media Center for DDS, commented, “The ODC Nimbus HDBD LBR has been a workhorse for HD-DVD and is now proving itself with Blu-ray. We master HD-DVD and Blu-ray on this system with minimal change-over time and with good in-spec results. Our yield off the ODC Nimbus system exceeds 90% as measured by good discs through the entire replication process.”

Johnson went on to say, “The technical expertise, support and cooperation we receive from ODC Nimbus continues to be a major contributing factor to our success.”

James Wu, President of ODC Nimbus, added that, “We have designed and built the only HDBD LBR that can easily master both the HD-DVD and the Blu-ray formats. This gives our accounts total independence, no matter which format, or even if both formats, prevail. Deluxe Digital Studios are superb partners and this milestone achievement would not have been possible so quickly without their support.”

About ODC NIMBUS:
ODC NIMBUS is the fusion of two pioneers in mastering. With unified technology, over 50 years of combined experience and 25+ patents, the company takes aim at a new LBR for Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD. About DELUXE DIGITAL STUDIOS:

this company has a annual output of 800 MILLION DISC'S

if this company were getting yields above 90% last year...the talk about Blu-Ray yield rates being very low are pure FUD spun to make HD DVD look better ...what nonsense.
