Australia HOME (Planet Earth style doco) AUS vs UK vs US

Okay so I just watched Home (AUS), PQ looks amazing on my 32" lcd while doing treadmill, haven't fired it up on my 60" plasma yet.

Blu-ray.com specs had the AUS release as MPEG-4 AVC 1080p BD25 at 120mins, was 90 mins including credits & feature only (have sent update), so checked the other regions.

UK is listed as 120 mins also & has 30 min Making of Doco. but is listed as:
VC-1 (29.92 Mbps) 1080/50i BD50

USA is listed as 120 mins with no Making of Doco & is listed as:
MPEG-4 AVC 1080p BD25
oh & Amazon US pricing starts at $85 new, $65 used.

Can anyone confirm UK or US specs. Like the UK's 120min & Making of, but won't the PQ be disappointing? This appears to be, & many comments on forums agree a stunning reference quality blu. Why have a 50BD & put 1080i on it

I've got the UK version. Just checking it out now. Has aussie ratings logo on it. Ps3 says VC-1 and only 90mins. Consistently over 30mbps. PQ looks good to me on 60" plasma. Not quite as good as Earth Flight or Yellowstone.

Aussie ratings logo on disc or artwork? What makes you think it's UK? UK edition should have special edition banner on artwork & 30 min making of feature advertised on front artwork as per bluesy.com database. Does yours have this?

Currently UK release is part of the 2 for £10, so might pick up. Wasn't aware ps3 could give you all that info! Might have to buy one. I have Sony Bdps series players, will have to read manual & see if I can get these disc details. As time was wrong am guessing codec probably is too. If you don't have the making of doco we probably have same disc

It was bought from Amazon UK. Has the special edition banner. It's quite common for Universal titles to have UK, Ireland and Australian ratings logos on discs distributed by them in those countries.

To get the basic disc info just press the display button on your players remote. From memory my old sony player (s580) would show audio and video codec and bitrate.

The doco was listed on the disc menu.

Much appreciated Lazlo. Display button........... never would have thought to try it!

As predicted AUS disc is VC-1, & states 1080i on rear cover so most likely same encode as UK.

Have submitted 90 mins for UK, & 1080i VC-1 for AUS on bluray.com database.

Just picked up US 2 hour 1080p on ebay for $20US Will probably pickup the UK one for doco too
