Good stuff. I'm hoping for it to be a bit cheaper than the Anolis releases too although if they're gong to the effort of two AR's I can forgive it. Here's the artwork:

It's such a pleasant surprise to see all of these 50's Universal drive-in classics getting HD upgrades, as I hadn't ever expected to see them in the US. Now bring on The Leech Woman!

Gotta love it when they use the original poster art.

I'm surprised "Suitable only for adults" is in English.

It looks like Amazon have significantly jacked up their shipping charges - they want 6 Euros just for Tarantula, while my order for Bride of Re-Animator and Trick or Treat was 3.6 total! Back in December, the shipping cost for my order of Black Christmas was 3.18. Two copies of Tarantula would run me 9 Euros, which is almost three times what I paid for two discs last time. What's the deal here?

Wow, that's yet another Universal title that I was planning on buying, but will now have to skip! I had originally postponed an order for Tarantula in order to save on shipping by combining it with Land Unknown, but Amazon would have to increase their shipping costs in, what, the last week, and just as I was about to order Tarantula anyway? It's a conspiracy, I tell ya...

This 50's classic comes to blu-ray for the first time and an excellent restoration it is to. You get both German and English soundtracks with optional English and German subtitles. A nice feature is the option to view the film in either 4/3 or 16/9. The disc is locked to region B so for American fans unless you have an all region player you'll have to wait for a USA release.

I asked Amazon about their increased shipping rates, and this was the reply:

Quote:
To make shipping to your country as reasonable as possible we have introduced a charge per delivery and an additional amount per kilogramm, which is calculated exactly in proportion to your items' weight.
I'm not sure what's particularly 'reasonable' about doubling shipping charges, but there you have it.

this way single movie orders are more expensive but multiple item orders get cheaper compared to before.

same goes for deliverys from amazon.uk to germany. or amazon france to germany since a while.

The shipping for two items is €8.99. As I noted, it had previously been €3.60. For three items, the cost would be €11.98. So you're not saving anything.

If you have a Panasonic or a Pioneer machine, it should play, but otherwise (to the best of my knowledge) it won't in a Region A-locked US player.
