Default April 2014 50 Movie Challenge - Favorites

The challenge: watch your top 50 movies in a month.

We usually do 10 categories, like last month. This month, I really want to watch the films I've been neglecting.

60 Movies - Platinum
50 Movies - Gold
40 Movies - Silver
30 Movies - Bronze
  • If you're going to repost your entire list each time, please hide it under spoiler tags (and I also delete my previous one when I do to keep the thread tidy)
  • If you are going to post pictures for the films (poster art or bluray covers, for example) please try not to use GIANT pictures, and if there are tons of them, again - please hide under spoilers

It took me a long time to make this list and organize it. I am sure I will move stuff around before and after I watch them. Also, I had to remind myself the list was of movies that I like the most, not necessarily the best films.

This month will be much easier. All I need to fight against is baseball. One game pretty much every day. But that's how I roll.

OTOH, there's no way I can get minimum 5 into each category. For instance, I don't think I've even seen 5 Disney films. So, my Miscellaneous category may be really large. Anyways ...

I'm not sure how to approach this challenge. I still want to try and watch 50 films, but I'm not in the mood to watch 50 favorites in one month. I might break it up by genre and go from there.

Dedicating an entire month to only revisiting movies and no movies I haven't seen before? Pfft, count me out. Good luck.

I think I've decided how I'm going to handle this challenge.

I know I won't get in all 50 all-time favorites this month. I probably won't even come close. I know there are too many non-favorites stuff that I will be watching as well. But I DO want to revisit my favorite films.
So while I won't be getting all 50 in this month, I'm going to use this as an ongoing checklist. Whenever I do have a chance to pick a random movie to watch, I'll pick one off my list and work my way through it. It will probably take a couple months, but I will revisit them all.
(I'm also checking off any of them that I have already watched in 2014)

p.s. Russhole - great choice with Heathers!

Not a bad idea. Interested in what everyone has as favorites. Think putting favorites in brackets or changing color is good.

Man, I haven't done one of these challenges in a little while. I didn't think I'd do it this month, since I have so many rentals and blind-buys to look at first. But, heck, I'll start posting here, and if 30 or more happen to be favorites, then it'll work.

I think it's a bit of a shame that we're only limited to the top 50, as I could probably make a top 300 or so, but I supposed the limitation will make it a real challenge (especially since most of my favorites are long ).

So far, all I have is:

01: The Grandmaster

1 film, 0 qualified as top 50 favorites

Like your top 100 list a lot. I've been trying to watch all the Ghibli films. I'm in Taiwan, and they are very popular here. Last month, I watched 5 for the studio challenge.
