Default Making your own BD/DVD combo packs

Does anyone else do this? I've just noticed a few instances where I have multiple editions of a movie, each on one disc that take up more space on my shelf (eg Fist of Legend - theatrical cut and extended version).
So I decided to make my own 'combo' by taking out the cover art for the theatrical version, putting in a 2 disc DVD case with both the theatrical and extended discs.

I'm going to try it with Enemy of the State - theatrical (BD) and Extended (DVD) as well (sadly there's no BD release for the Extended version)
I thought it would be a good way to save space The only thing is it kind of mucks up numbers on my colllection database, as now I dont know whether my home made pack counts as 1 or 2 items.

I remember - I first did it with Ghostbusters 4K and the original BD release, so I'd have the movie mastered in 4K with extras

I have thought about doing this. Getting a 2,3, or 4 disc BD case and adding all BD with DVD for that movie.

I do this every now and then. Made my own combo pack for Severin's THIRST. I wasn't crazy about the yellow tint so I put the old Synapse DVD in BD case. Did the same with TOURIST TRAP. I have a jump cut-free DVD and the BD - they're basically one and the same IMO. I've got plenty of empty 2-disc cases lying around for these DIY projects

I've been doing this moreso with BD/BD combo packs. Since blu ray cases are transparent and allow for interior artwork, I love making combo packs with 2 disc Viva Elite cases and the artwork visible on the inside. Some of my favorite examples:

The Shining - US and European cut
Serpico - US and European releases with different extras
Coming to America - US release with extras and the bare bones international release with 10 extra mbps for video + dts-hd ma for audio.
Philadelphia - US Twilight Time release with slightly better picture quality and Sony international release with different extras

As someone already mentioned, there are also some nice double packs that can be made with Sony's bare bones Mastered in 4K releases and their previous releases with extras.

Yeah, I've bought a lot of extra BD cases to do this with. It's a good way to save space and also retain any special features that might not have carried over to the new BD release.

Done more than few with disc 2 from 2-disc dvd sets (From Hell, Species) and some with dvd dubs for features and one or 2 with a single dvd for features. I wish I didn't have to do these, but do em if I have to. It was better when BB had upgrade and save, great way to get rid of disc 1 from dvd sets where I had to keep disc 2.

Been doing this for a couple of years. I love my 4 disc special edition of Hellboy (1 BR, 3 DVD) and Evil Dead (same) as as my 2 disc editions of Daredevil (director's cut BR/theatrical DVD) and The Thing (BR w/no extras/DVD with all the extras)

Yep, I've also been doing this for years with DVD, never mind with BD/DVD! My last one was putting my homebrew remastered Terminator BD (mit mono audio!) in the Definitive Edition DVD steelbook with the extras disc.

But how many times, do you watch the special features (if at all)? If you've seen the special features once, you shouldn't want to see them again.

Who are you to tell people what they shouldn't be watching? When I revisit a film in my collection I usually watch some of the extras as well, even if I did view them x amount of years ago when I first got the disc.
