Unfortunately it seems to be a big ploy these days with studios. I will just wait for the eventual individual release.

I knew the production was troubled but had no idea the ending was re-shot. Bummer we won't get to see it. I'm not crazy about the other sequels but will be glad to buy a box set that contains everything after the original. I'm assuming they're planning to skip the original after the countless re-issues.

I think I'm legitimately psychic. I saw a DVD of this at WBshop.com 2 days ago, and I immediately had the feeling that this would be announced for BD soon. I've had that happen a few times if anyone has seen similar posts like this from me.

Neat. I saw this in the theaters when it was released....scared me real bad.
Watched it once or twice on home video, still enjoyed it. Haven't seen it for a looooong time. A shame it failed at the box office...but I think there is a quote on wiki that the producers and director begged the studio (Morgan Creek) not to name it with "Exorcist" in the title. It was sure doom.

I saw it in the theaters as well and clearly remember the scene where the nurse gets it with the shears in the corridor made the entire audience shriek.
I like the film, but the obviously tacked on final exorcism hurts the film a bit.
Look forward to revisiting it on BD when it is released.

Yes yes yes yes yes! George C Scott, wormtongue, Patrick Ewing & Fabio in my most favorite movie in which they all appear together. The audio in the hall scene w/the nurse is the scariest audio in a movie ever. Just...So...Happy
