My favourite season was probably Season 1. Ned Stark was my favourite character from both the show and the books. Season 3 comes second and Season 2 comes last. Although all seasons so far have been great imo.
Season 4 has been good so far but I'm sure there are a few surprises coming in the last five episodes. |

I really cannot say. Since I just came into the series in January, at this point I'm still viewing it as one long continuous story and while I understand the practical breaking down of seasons, it doesn't feel disconnected enough to me to make that judgement.
I'm sure I may feel differently now that I'm waiting a year in between seasons. I have to say, in terms of satisfying, this season has been stellar so far. Most of the major events in previous seasons didn't make me "happy" - but this season sure as heck has, as several of the deaths/events are revolving around folks that just deserved it to no end. |

Hmmm, 4 isn't over, but has some memorable moments ahead that I expect will elevate it for those who find it lackluster thus far.
I would have to say that Season 3 had some of the most memorable moments. Each has been solid with some fantastic moments. Ned Stark. Black Water, The Red Wedding, The taking of the Unsullied, Ayra's 3 names, etc, etc, etc. There is really no wrong answer for which season you found the best. ![]() |

1) Season 3
It just did a terrific job at keeping all the stories rolling, the big twists were big and demanding and had great weight to them. Even characters that had very little to do were able to make an impact and it managed to do a good juggle between proper fantasy and the grounded politics that made the first season so appealing, and it really grew in confidence, allowing for really humorous moments with the TV structure. Only downside was Bran's dull storyline, and maybe a little less torture. 2) Season 2 Had a fantastic build up, some big surprises and really found it's momentum. Although kinda letting down some of the biggest build up work from the first season, you really grew to root for the "good" guys that season and hate the "bad guys, with the nice complexity in-between. Plus it didn't have the burden of the first season having to set everything into place. 3) Season 1 The first season is a tough watch, the dialogue in focused on really tough to grasp exposition and doesn't come off completely convincing. The series itself is a little unsure as to what it's attempting, however once it gets past the mythology building, the show begins to get a bit more adventurous and a lot more at ease with it's characters and world. It also doesn't help the series too much that they didn't have the look of the series down yet, the staging looked a bit TV-esque and despite high production values the camera work felt a bit to TV studio based. At the moment, the fourth season is lying somewhere near Season 1 instead of Season 2 and 3, but it's hard to judge considering these season are often backloaded. But it has been less big events and twists and more padding until later episodes when the big stuff happens. It doesn't help that all these meandering comes after some major deaths, which gives the feeling that the show is struggling to recover with a lack of key characters here. |
