Never played a Far Cry game before but I may have to get this to see what all the fuss is about. Sucks it's cross gen though.

I agree, this cross gen stuff needs to stop. It was fine for last years Fall games but now it's just hurting development and making games worse than what they could be. I mean look at Infamous, Killzone etc. Those games look amazing and are next gen only.

Agreed. That's why I believe that Batman: Arkham Knight is going to be amazing (since it's only for PS4/XB1). Last gen (PS3/360) are holding this gen back.

I also can't wait to see what Batman looks and plays like. So glad they made that next gen exclusive and hopefully shows other developers what they can do when they aren't held back by PS3/360.

Its going to be two years at least before cross gen stuff stops. The studios have to make their sales.

It sucks, but it is what it is.

This ^

Can't forget the "10 Year Life cycle" promise. As Merrick said, at least another two years until we can hopefully see more and more devs leaving the past in the past.

If this is as good as FC3 than I'm onboard for this one!

Far Cry 3 is the only Far Cry I have played and I loved it, look forward to seeing more on this one.

So how much early PS3 content was released on PS2 simultaneously? As a publisher, there would be little downside to forcing studios to cross develop indefinitely, at least until Sony stops supporting PS3.

I think that's different, though, because Ps2 used DVD's and PS3's used Blurays. Kinda hard to do crossgen and keep single discs, I'd imagine, on the PS2 side of things.

Cross platform was easy enough, though.

Haha, it's so funny to see all of these PS4 gamers complain about being held back by the PS3. Now you know how PC gamers feel .

I would say most sports titles were a given. As would be movie tie-ins. I do recall that Splinter Cell: Double Agent being available on both Xbox/PS2 and 360/PS3. I'm sure there were others.

But not nearly like this transition, right, where nearly everything is cross-gen, and a few AAA catalog titles have already been converted or announced? So do you think that reflects how much easier it is to program for the PS4 than it was the PS3, or is it because the margin of improvement from PS3 gen to PS4 gen is so much smaller than it was from PS2 to PS3?
