Default eBay Blu-ray movies

Has anyone else wondered how some of these people can sell Blu-ray titles for so cheap? I figured the people who sell 1's and 2's buy and regret or gifts but how about the Ebay Stores? You will see titles selling as little as $8-10 + shipping....

reselling and overcharging for shipping are perfectly legal, its up to the buyer to notice ship charges, and take them into account. it is smart for someone to do the BOGO for hundreds of blu rays, and then make money off them by selling them on ebay. not many can do that, or want to tho due to the hassle and or risk of not being able to resell

I bought the Wild and The Prestige off of Ebay for about $8 each. They didn't come in the case or have a cover, but the disk sure looks legit to me. The picture and sound are great to me. I sold Enemy of the State without a case on Ebay for $15. I got it as part of a BOGO deal. I didn't like the transfer much, so I sold it.

I do find it odd when there are so many sealed Blu Ray's for sale by one person.

well im sure some people own businesses and buy them in bulk straight from manufacturers. And I'm sure selling at lower prices on Ebay is actually more of a profit maker than decent prices in-store because of Ebay's popularity and amount of people in it every day

I haven't found too many "cheap" BLUs (closing prices w/shipping) on eBay. Most that are cheaper are the free and BOGO selections.

And of course, most end at or above Amazon prices when you factor "shipping" fees in.

No one can sell them as cheap as these people do for sealed new copies

The big box stores get a discount of 35% off of SRP standard (obviously exceptions are made for a big sale or something, but that's exception rather than the rule)

Unless you can place regular orders for hundreds (possibly thousands) of copies of a single title, you're probably doing business with a third party distributor, which is doing a markup of between 5 and 10%(25-30% off SRP)

As a rule, if you see someone selling anywhere like ebay or amazon marketplace below a 35% markup on a regular basis, they're fencing, or they're buying from someone who is

I see lots of people selling movies and games without the boxes.

Hmm, that wouldn't be from a Blockbuster, Hollywood Video, et al robbery now would it?

Nothing says criminal like someone running 13 disc-only no-reserve auctions of Forza 2 within two weeks of its release.

yeah its true. I HATE the people that are going the $10 shipping charges. I can/have sent a movie in a bubble wrap envelope with 3 stamps. so thats $0.62+$1.26. so not $10. Guess they're trying to screw ebay out of their charges.

I think Ebay has to check themselves as far as their fees, its getting pretty expensive. Fixed price auctions are crazy expensive + they charge you through Paypal for the payment as well. They just need to figure out how to charge you for actually shipping the item. EBAY, GET TO WORK ON THAT!

I don't think shipping charges are legal. The only reason I'm saying this is because I was charging 10 dollars to ship to action figures out and the guy told an ebay employee that I was charging way to much for shipping and if I did not lower the shipping I would get a warning of some matter. The shipping ended up being only 5 bucks for the package. A blu-ray should only be not even be 10 dollars it should be up to 1.00 depending on where you are in the US.

There was a big time scammer on Ebay a few months back. The guy had a 100% positive feedback i believe with over 500+ positive feedbacks. He listed a whole bunch of items, such as Ipod Videos, Blu Ray and HD DVD movies, etc. He would have multiple copies available of all the titles. In the end, a ton of people purchased off him, and he took the money and bailed. He ended up getting over 100 negative feedbacks within a few days and his account ended up getting shut down by ebay.

On a side note about shipping, i always find it funny when people have the shipping at like $5 for sending a Blu Ray to the United States, and then when you look under Canada, they are asking $35 for shipping, which is just plain ridiculous....i'm sure there are some unfortunate people who get suckered into those.

It is NOT LEGAL to overcharge for shipping on Ebay. Its against ebay's rules. People try this to avoid paying higher fee's and thats why Ebay DOES NOT allow it.

it happens all the time though. Maybe they have a set limit on shipping? Even $5 is alot when I've bought in the past and saw $1.98 on the shipping label.

I'd rather buy from an amazon seller @ $2.98 shipping

$5 might seem high but not bad its the sellers who charge $10 and up to ship a single DVD.

yes it does happen alot. Ebay can not watch every single auction.

Hell I have seen people sell items for 1 cent and charge $200 for shipping. That way they are only paying fee's on 1 cent and not $200. Thats why its against Ebay's rules.
