The thing most don't realize is that if a "friend" could obtain these for you they could be shipped for about 10-12£ using first class mail

Some of these work out to cost more than twice what they go for here. Case in point, just bought The Town Saturday for $9.99 at Bestbuy. All of these are going for $25 USD which is quite steep for these.

You don't know how much Zavvi paid for the stock and I think we can be pretty sure that they didn't get a 'friend' to pick a few up from a US store. At the end of the day, if you want to buy these mostly crap American releases, then you are free to select whichever retailer is best for you. Some UK collectors don't want the hassle of importing and dealing with Amazon's horrendous packaging or don't have a 'friend', so for them it isn't a terrible option.

Don't know why some are moaning. I think it's pretty cool that Zavvi are selling some Import Steelbooks. And the prices are consistent with what Zavvi themselves charge for their own Steels.

The Watchmen one is worth it if you only have the UK steelbook because it has all the extras that the UK steelbook doesnt. Thats why Ive got both.

Mind you - I bought the US one for far less than £15!

LMAO!!! Well, you can bet that they didn't pay much more than what the stock is being sold for in North America. In bulk (more than 5), these could have been shipped to the UK for about $3 each. And, given the fact that the retailers are probably just trying to unload stock because they are no longer selling, do you really think that they decided to double the cost price for someone who actually wanted them? Highly doubtful. Let's be honest here. Zavvi likely got these for $15 each... shipped... TOPS!!! That's probably about £8 or £9.

They are definitely taking the "import" value too high on these ones.

Sorry to say US steelbooks are some of blandest, dullest steelbooks around. Best Buy had some nice ones in their last wave but they felt like borrowed designs, like I've seen them somewhere, especially SAFE HOUSE. And now they have apparently abandoned them altogether excepting the occasional studio issue. Steelbooks are an afterthought in the US, unfortunately.

not when you factor in shipping
the Jurassic Park steel, for example (the only one I had my eye on admittedly) is £14.49 to ship from amazon, so the Zavvi price is pretty fair assuming they are shipping from UK....

Wow! Quite impressive Zavvi.
Will be interested to see what other titles (and ones from other countries too) they might get in the future. For now though I probably won't get any of these

Do the ones pictured with those blu borders actually have the border printed on the steel?
