Default Rarest Criterion DVD you own.

As many of you know, many titles from The Criterion Collection are OOP, and some are very very rare. What is the rarest one you own?

Mine is Criterion's The Silence Of The Lambs. What's yours?

Ran? RoboCop? Notorious? I think those are the only OOP Criterions I own. Wish I had Silence of the Lambs, I missed a chance to buy it from a Movie Gallery for $15 like 5-6 years ago and never found it again

I own every OOP Criterion DVD & Blu (unless it was re-released so I don't own the original Salo or any of the 1st edition DVDs that were upgraded - mostly sold them).

You tell me which is the rarest but I'd guess one of the following:

The Killer
Hard Boiled
This Is Spinal Tap
Sid And Nancy
Tokyo Olympiad

If you're ever in Los Angeles or San Francisco you can easily find like new copies of Silence Of The Lambs at Amoeba Records for about $10.
They had numerous copies the last time I was there.

Anyways, mine are probably The Killer and Spinal Tap. Got a few others too but those are the ones that seem to be the biggest pain in the ass to get on ebay.

Just yesterday I was walking around a neighborhood in Brooklyn and some guy was selling used videos and DVDs in front of his small shop. Most of them sucked but then I found a sealed copy of the OOP Criterion of Bunuel's Diary of a Chambermaid. He sold it to me for $4.

I think the only Criterion release that I have is Chasing Amy (1997) released in 2000.

I had Joey Lauren Adams sign it at the Oct. 2011 Chiller convention in NJ.

Sadly, I don't think any of the Criterion DVDs I have are particularly rare or OOP.

I used to have the RoboCop DVD, but got rid of it in favor of the 25th Anniversary edition Steelbook. I regret nothing; the newer editions have way more extras, and still offers both cuts of the movie with good quality.

The best and rarest I have are all on Blu-Ray.

I have:

Notorious DVD
Rebecca DVD
Spellbound DVD
Ran DVD
Bob le flambeur DVD
Le Corbeau DVD
Diary of a Country Priest DVD
The Fallen Idol DVD
M. Hulot's Holiday DVD
Peeping Tom DVD
Last Year in Marienbad Blu-ray
The Third Man Blu-ray
...and more, but I have no idea what ones are more valuable.

It really doesn't matter to me though, because I wouldn't part with any of them.

I wish I had:

Army of Shadows Blu-ray

I have several, but Deadringers and The Third Man are probably my rarest ones, going by their price on Amazon.

On DVD probably Notorious. Also OOP: Ran and The Small Back Room.

I have a couple of OOP Blu-rays too, like Playtime, Chungking Express and Pierrot le Fou.

I was very late to the Criterion Party, over the last couple of years or so I started to acquire some of the earlier spine numbers. Hardboiled, The Killer, and Spinal Tap were hard to get for a good price, but I now have them. Still trying to get my hands on Sid and Nancy.

I don't know, but it would be nice to know which ones truly are rare.
