Independence Day HAS NOT been delayed - Blu-ray Forum

I have been getting a lot of emails about this because of the Amazon emails.

Please remember that recently they did the same exact thing with Rescue Dawn and that was never a delay either.

INDEPENDENCE DAY ON BLU-RAY HAS NOT BEEN DELAYED.
THIS HAS A RELEASE DATE OF 12/4

I just checked all my distributors info - all 3 show release date of 12/4.

I also went to Fox's site for retailers and they are also showing a release date of 12/4.

moretonbay, fox japan just announced 3 movies for january 18th release, what are the chances of us getting them the same time or sooner?

Man, Amazon has been really sucking lately. Between their shipping delays, items getting hung up in "shipping soon" status and misinformative emails about release dates, its a wonder people don't stop ordering from them. I know I have as of today.

I received that email from Amazon as well.

Basically again, Amazon got caught being a little late to the party on news.

Thank you! I got the email from amazon too. But I also received an email from amazon saying that my FF:ROSS was delayed. I got this email on release day when the boards were saying not only that people were picking it up at their local best buy, but also that there orders have shipped from amazon. I called amazon and they said that it hadn't been released yet. I told them that people had already gotten it and they told me that was impossible. I may cancel my amazon order for ID4 and get it from BB just in case. Amazon is screwing up a lot lately.

I just got that e-mail too... I wasn't too bummed about it though as I am already about 40-50 movies behind in my to be watched queue.

I also got the email from Amazon and expected to check in over here and see a news item that it had been delayed. Glad to hear that isn't the case. Thanks Moretonbay for the info

yeah, amazon is f'd up at times. They still show the BD HDScape sampler as a pre-order shipping March 25th 2008, I got mine from deepdiscount weeks ago for 5.99 with free shipping.

DVD Pacific took it off their site also.

By the way, Independence Day was shown on Starz-HD a few days ago and looked like crap, zoomed in, non-OAR crap, I can't wait for the BR just to see how this can look in real HD.

I guess I am spoiled by BR.

Have you received your copies yet, or do you know if ID4 still on track? It's weird that other sites are listing a delay or removing it for preorder. I have it ordered from you.

I posted something about this last night in this thread but it was removed for some reason...amazon removed the pre-order so I think we all the know the delay is coming

Same thing happened with Resuce Dawn..Pre-order was taking down and no information on it was released..All of a sudden its released on time...Actually got mine about 6 days early.
