Rear Window 60th Anniversary

So it appears the 60th Anniversary release comes out in August. I just purchased the individual release a few weeks ago. Is this gonna be just a repackage?

We need another individual release of THE BIRDS now since the 50th has been OOP for a while. I missed out on that one.

I already have Rear Window on BD and when I watch it, I am absolutely mesmerised whenever Grace Kelly is in shot; the transfer is good enough to make her eyes look like sapphire's. Plus it's topical at the mo with 'Grace of Monaco' doing the cinema rounds here in the UK

As for the 60th anniversary edition, not sure what can be added apart from new packaging ? We shall see

Hmm, interesting, I didn't know about this. Very happy with the current release, but as it is one of my all time favourites I might double dip.

Hi, I have an unwanted copy of The Birds UK 50th anniversary edition in mint condition complete with slip and postcard

Don't like the gold artwork myself and have purchased the UK 2-disc combo with Psycho which has similar artwork to US edition. I like The Birds cover but is it just me that finds the director on the front a bit strange? I can't think of any other films that have that.

It would probably be strange with any other director, but Hitchcock is a pretty unique case with his movies. He's featured n the trailers for them, movie posters, and of course the cameos.

He's actually in the original Birds poster:

Arguably my favourite movie of all time. Certainly in the top five.

Already have it as part of the masterpiece collection though so unlikely to double dip unless there are new extras.

He was the only non-actor director who marketed himself as a brand and whose image was instantly recognisable to the public. His dry wit made him a celebrity at the time. His TV series and many of his films were advertised with his image and appearances, while most other directors had little or no public profile.

Yeah I appreciate that,I mean his head tilted back image is instantly recognisable and I know he was on the original Birds poster but I still find it a bit strange.

Love the look of them as well, very classy image choices. Updated yet staying true to the original poster images and such!! Glad I imported that Birds one when it first came out. It's really one of the best import slips I think.

It's a shame Universal didn't continue with these golden Anniversary releases, I own 'The Birds' and 'Rear Window' and they look fantastic lined up together.

I wanted to import the 'Marnie' one, but the likelihood of it still arriving with slip is ridiculously low.
