Does anyone still not have the BD remote? - Blu-ray Forum

I finally picked one up yesterday and I'm sooo glad I did. Waaay easier t use than the controller and I dont have to turn it off like the controller to conserve battery. Plus all your options are on seperate buttons so no "digging" is needed to find what you want. Go get one! I believe BB has them on sale for 19.99 this week

i dont have one, but i only have 3 Bd movies. i would really like to see logitech make a universal remote that has bluetooth so i can have 1 remote that does everything.

I got mine a long time ago, I got tired of using the controller.

My only major problem with it is that pressing ANY button will turn on the PS3. I hate that, there's a reason there's a power button on it. I accidentally turn it on all the time.
Don't really know what they were thinking when they decided to incorporate that one in there.

I'm cheap, everytime I think of buying one, I think the money would be better spent getting another BD.

The remotes cost £17.99 over here.

That is one of the reasons not the only one of course but probably the main reason why we did not buy the PS3.

Pioneer Elite though does make one sweet Blu Player

hmmm, didnt realize that. but i have the intercooler on my ps3. Which has a really crappy feature. it uses the ps3's main power source to run. but even when the ps3 is on standby (red light), the intercooler remains on and there is NO shut off unless I turn the main power off which the switch is redirected to the front with the intercooler on the system. so i could never accidentally turn it on. A little pissed off nykon did that. I'll call them, see if they made one that I can turn it off. It has a little knob to adjust the fan speed, if only you could turn it all the way to the left or something and "click" it off. grrr

I think this is a third party remote and not the Sony remote.

The gamestop remote is not the Sony remote it's an aftermarket IR remote.

And to answer the question of the thread....

I still don't have the BD remote. I bought my PS3 last Nov and use a Logitech 659 with it since day one via a work around.

I would pick up the BD remote if it would control all my other gear and if it was backlit. My Harmony 659 controls all my other gear and the back lighting is critical in my dedicated HT where lights are off.

thats true. backlight would have been nice. But so would a small led in the PS button on the sixaxis =(

i use it to scroll through my main menu on the ps3 now. i think its easier

i saw it in the ad we (i work in a gamestop) that we are giving out to customers on friday that it is true thats why i put mine on hold in my store so i could make sure to get one

I bet I could program my logitech remote to work with that remotes IR receiver! Might be worth picking up for the other person who mentioned using a universal remote with the PS3.

I've been using my Harmony 550 with the Nyko BluWave dongle and it works great.

I watch more blu-ray movies than I play games. I don't have a remote. I think I've gotten good with the PS3 controller.

I agree with some of you, i'd rather use the money for another blu-ray.
