Default Current HDTV marketshare

Thought some people might like to see this:

Quote:
Vizio remains the market leader in the LCD TV segment, but Samsung, Sharp and Sony are getting more aggressive to claim a greater share of the market. According to market estimates released by iSuppli on Tuesday, Vizio held a 13.0% share in Q3, down from 13.7% in Q2.

Samsung, ranked second, was able to gain two points from 10.8% to 12.8% in the same time frame. Sharp in #3 also gained significantly and is now estimated at 12.0%, up from 9.8% in Q2. Sony in fourth was even more successful on a percentage basis, as the company was able to grow its share from 6.0% in Q2 to 10.1% in Q3. Polaroid rounds out the top 5 ranking with a share of 9.1%, up from 8.5% in Q2.

That's just sad. Well, make something cheap enough and they'll buy it no matter what.

I bet if Krispy Kreme came out with a 42" 720p TV for $500, they'd get 9% share too.

Wish I could remember where I saw it but those cheap TV's will cost you in the end if anything goes wrong with them. I remember it saying that it was cheaper to buy a new Vizio instead of repairing one that was out of warranty.

I own a Sharp 32" 1080P and I love it. Will look into another one if it ever goes. As for electronics the difference is only hundreds just save a bit more and you could buy brand name.

Doesn't suprise me but I suppose any HD adoption is good for HD users? Meaning more HD tv channels and movies etc..
