Is this true....? I don't mean to open a can of worms, but, the run times for this movie keep changing....
In 1979, the film aired at 210 min. In 1993, a laserdisc was released at 193 min. (missing 17 minutes) In 1995, a VHS was released at 184 min. (missing 26 minutes) In 1999, a DVD was released at 183 min. (missing 27 minutes) IMDb says this: Broadcast on network TV in the United States to fill a 200 minutes time slot; later cut to 150 minutes [...] and DVD contains 183min version which is the complete mini-series. I also heard of a 184min version floating around (pun intended) And Wikipedia: Salem's Lot originally aired on CBS on November 17th and 24th of 1979 in two 2-hour segments. The following year, CBS aired an edited version of the miniseries in one 3-hour segment. Can someone please explain what is going on and what is the "true" length.... If this has been discussed in another thread, please advise as I did use the search and was unable to find anything... |
