Guardians of the Galaxy 3D hits theaters this week in many locations. The movie doesn't take itself seriously and had a comic style with what looks like lots of action and special effects, and hopefully a fun story line with stronger 3D. Based on the Marvel Comics.

Will check it out this weekend. The trailer's 3D is in the high medium, to strong 3D range for layering from what I saw in theaters. Wondering if the 3D will be consistent from start to finish for most shots, and not go lite 3D for the dialog shots as they did with Avengers and Captain America Winter Soldier's 3D.

Looks like fun.

Saw this tonight. The 3d is excellent and the visuals are second to none. Overall, it's a really entertaining sci-fi flick with a lot of humor.

Good to hear. I'm planning on seeing it this weekend at a DBox theatre in 3D. Should be quite the experience

Cinemark XD, yes? Did it open up to 1.78:1 in some scenes like the IMAX release? It did so in a trailer I saw in XD, but not sure whether I should expect that when I see the full film.

I'm seeing this tomorrow at Imax. Surprisingly for a movie like this, my expectations are pretty low. Hope I'll enjoy it a lot and be swept up in the fun.

I actually don't recall, I was so engrossed in the movie, that I didn't notice.

Movie was a lot of fun and the 3D was magnificent. Really great throughout. Definitely at the level of The Avengers in terms of 3D and the movie is loads better.

Watched this afternoon, excellent movie. This may be the best movie of the summer so far (not much left to challenge it). The story was great, the acting was spot on, another Marvel home run of a movie. I also liked the 3D, there were a lot of very cool scenes that took advantage of the technology.

Also, the scene at the end of the movie really caught me off guard. Awesome!

Trailers:
Some kid movie about a bad day with Steve Carrell in it (2D) - totally forgettable
Dumb and Dumber 2 (2D) - looks like if you enjoy that kind of humor, you would like this.
Big Hero 6 (3D) - same as before, looks good

Nothing good as far as trailers went, was hoping for a 3D trailer for The Hobbit.

Oh man, I guess you have your reasons to skip the 3D in the theater here, but you'll enjoy the strong 3D on blu ray 3D.

Nice. Cinemark showed those and Hobbit: Battle of Five Armies 3D trailer; which looks great and I'll gauge it around medium to high medium 3D with some strong shots too. Looks very good.
Big Hero 6 3D; 2nd time seeing the trailer and I have to say, strong 3D here.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3D:
Very fun, epic sci fi action movie with lots of humor, and spectacular, strong 3D in many shots, with some high medium shots also. I don't think there was a single character, good or evil, that I didn't like in this movie. Was smiling about 80% of the movie. Very fun adventure and the character interactions were hilarious.
The powerful main villain reminds me of a Sith from Star Wars, and the movie actually feels like a Star Wars inspired film.
James Gunn did a great job here, I loved Guardians of the Galaxy. The look of the movie is amazing, and the 3D really well done, with some strong 3D pop outs later on that had me flinching back.

A sequel confirmed at the end credits "The Guardians of the Galaxy will return". The last shot after all the credits:
[Show spoiler]Benicio del Toro's Collector character is talking to "Howard the Duck", who says, something comical about the dog.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3D Review:
3D Layers: 10/10 On par with Pacific Rim, with strong 3D much of the way.
3D Pop Outs: 8/10 Not many, but they are great when they're there.
3D Creativity: 9/10.
3D Fun Factor: 9/10. It doesn't get much better IMO. Awesome.

Stronger 3D Hybrid Conversion; conversion by Stereo D and Prime Focus. A+.

I agree, Guardians of the Galaxy may be the action movie of the year and 3D movie of the year IMO. Close competition from Edge of Tomorrow and it's 3D, though Captain America Winter Soldier is also still a favorite, though it's 3D was medium most times.

Thanks. Guardians of the Galaxy was a blast to watch in 3D. The outer space scenery, ships, space battles, action, fights, sword duels, comedy, characters, visuals, special effects, music, sound effects, strong 3D and story line all combined into an awesome experience I look forward to watching again.

Starlord, the main character, was great and his facemask and outfit were pretty cool, along with his nemesis, Michael Rooker (from Slither and The Walking Dead). Rocket the Raccoon was very funny, but so were the interactions between all of the characters including Saldana, Batista the strong man and Groot played by Vin Diesel. While watching it, a lot of it reminded me of classic Star Wars and the latest Star Trek Into Darkness. What an action movie. A+.

Watched this in IMAX 3D on Thursday. Packed theater, 425 seats sold out! there was only one person who left the movies disappointed that night, and it was a lady that was continuously being kicked in the back by a kid behind her. Lol

awesome use of 3d. Character development is superb. you actually start caring for each character, which is rare in the film the short. The opening scene set the mood perfectly. Music start off strong and never let down. Definitely didn't expect to like this this much.

one of my favorite 3d flicks so far, although the latest Spiderman had amazing 3d in it as well. Can't wait to see it again.
