I love the extended editions but I really wish they would use nicer artwork. The first one was a bit disappointing.

Yeah, I just uploaded generic artwork so I don't think it will be that one. Once it's updated I'll change the image.

But I share both of your sentiments; An Unexpected Journey was far too 'busy' for my liking - and after seeing the Dragon artwork from one of the US limited editions, I did think to myself that it would look pretty good...

Although it's not perfect - the border is a bit too big in my opinion, as is the gaudy 3D logo. But I can't really see them choosing this for the extended edition, we'll just have to wait and see I guess!

Not as much as the extended version of Lord of the Rings, still can't wait to see it.

Thanks for the info.

No dragon = no sale. I really have no clue why this opportunity keeps getting missed on this release (e.g. Amazon exclusive statue in U.S.). The dragon is/was the best part of the film!

I am sure that I bought the last extended from Amazon and had to wait and look at it in HMV.

This time I will get it in store I think:

I pre-ordered two different ones on Amazon.de last week. There is one with a Bilbo cover and one with Smaug.

It's unfortunate that this'll most likely be a jumbo and have 3D written on the cover. If only they'd release these (and LOTR) in regular steels in nice, glossy, colorful finishes. One can dream.

Zaavi quotes 3rd. November... Looks like it will be out about the time of the last movie in the cinema.

It's tempting... but I'll wait for the entire package. I have the LOTR boxset, I'm hoping they release The Hobbit in a similar boxset too.

The artwork is there! It's the same as the US Target EE, but 3D.

Such a shame. It matches the 1st one but I would have much preferred this:

OP updated with artwork.
