Default For all those wondering about DTS-HD for PS3

According to Highdefdigest.com in the article about samsungs DTS-HD firmware upgrade, they mentioned that sony is working to have it out to the PS3 by christmas

"Although the current cost of a high-end receiver capable of decoding the tracks via bitstream is likely to keep DTS-HD Master Audio out of the hands of all but the most dedicated home theater enthusiasts, word on the street is that DTS is working with Sony to add internal DTS-MA decoding to the PS3 before Christmas."

I am glad the PS3 is so upgradable, and Sony has been working hard to make the experience better and better for the users. Almost every feature I thought would be a cool addition has been brought on since I got my PS3 in July. I've had no doubt all along that Sony has heard the loud cries for the next-gen DTS audio, and has been working to get it rolled it out. I'm sure they are also working on the new Blu-Ray profiles. It would be crazy to not have the best selling and most popular HD movie player up and running the profiles. I'm not sure how Profile 2.0 will work with the 1 GB memory requirement, but wouldn't it be safe to imagine there is enough under the PS3's hood to handle almost anything? Special features aren't really that super important to me, but it would be nice to know I have that functionality if I up and decided to use it.

The 1Gb requirement is for persistent memory, not RAM. Standalones will need a gig of flash; the PS3 of course has the hard drive.

thats 1 GB of Persistent storage

Local storage capability[1]

[1] This is used for storing audio/video and title updates. It can either be built in memory or removable media, such as a memory card or a USB flash memory.

it does not have to be the RAM...

Can Sony make the PS3 with a 5 or 6 BD changer? I'll buy like 3 of those in a heartbeat.

Other than that I love my PS3
