Default Hidef man likes BD movie! Tears of the sun!

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/tearsofthesun.html

Quote:
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment presents 'Tears of the Sun' in 2.40:1 widescreen and 1080p video, as per usual on Blu-ray. However, while the format has suffered its share of critical slings and arrows ever since its launch earlier this summer (and I've been among some of the most vocal), I can honestly say this is the first transfer I've seen on the format that has totally and unequivocally blew me away. Maybe it is just because my expectations were unfairly lowered these past weeks, but I really thought this is among the best high-def I've yet seen, and frame-per-frame, it is certainly an equal with anything I've yet reviewed on HD DVD.
Can I hear a Woooohoooo!

Woooooohoooooooooooooooooooo!

This is a decent movie. Love hearing about the quality. Hopefully this is the new trend from now on from Columbia.

Wow, it's the best HD video this guy has seen thus far - and it's a Sony title to boot. It really seems like the BDA guys are cleaning up their act quick, and I couldn't be happier for that. All we need now is for Universal to go dual format, and we'd be pretty much all set.

Yeah, we may have the new PQ leader for Blu Ray here taking over from Training Day if this guy is right.

But it's the day the first VC-1 BDs are supposed to come out, the night is young... muahahahah! Amazon.com have Firewall in stock btw.

Best BD PQ for quite some time will probably be an H264 Disney computer generated movie, not too far off.

I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and consider it one of Willis best.

Is this MPEG2 or VC1?

Bruce Willis on 1080p HD resolution, haha.

I hope this movie lives up to what true MPEG 2 is like (some of the elite pros/gold club memebers at AVSforum would be happy seeing a Blu-ray movie that lives up to true MPEG2) even with just using MPEG 2 on Single Layer disc.

Then when BD 50 gets released, we can expect better.
