Default Zavvi - exclusive titles

Just come across an email from Zavvi. They have a blu ray movie called Open Grave. This is a 'Zavvi uk exclusive' limited to 1000

Looked the movie up, has ok reviews. It's available in other countries, so no real panic for any OCD collectors (I'm bordering one so I can say it )

It say exclusive release #1, so I guess like their steelbooks these are to become highly regular (warning to the wallet)

Here's the link to the Zavvi exclusives list (only 1 title so far and looks like the list needs updating)

It may be #1 in the series of "Zavvi Presents" but not the first exclusive they have had.

Jay & Silent Bob's Groovy Movie at the very least came before: http://www.zavvi.com/blu-ray/jay-and.../10971241.html

Probably others I don't know about.

Didn't Play.com have exclusive rights to Grave Encounters when it first came out? And now you can get it anywhere...

They also have #2 listed (The Great Train Robbery) A Tale of Two Thieves
Which as you can probably guess is a docudrama on the Great Train Robbery

Both titles in this series so far are according to imdb from Signature Entertainment who seem to be a low rent TV movie company. Have not heard of any of their "films" so don't expect major titles in this range.

Zavvi Presents films are exclusive blu-rays, hand picked by members of the Zavvi team, of hidden gems, cult classics and genre defying oddities.
Here's Signature Entertainment's facebook page:

I don't really see how what they have presented there can be considered cult classics and genre defying. Those are a bunch of s**ty movies.

Looking at all signature titles on the the zavvi website (mostly DVD's) they appear to specialise in rip off B movies piggy backing on the major releases with similar names.

Can't say I'm particularly enthused by this but let's see what #3 is

Hidden gems, cult classics and genre defying oddities = cheap to secure solo distribution(?) rights.

I'm out. They screwed up the steelbook market with their shenanigans.

I like how it's literally none of those things

I actually quite like signature entertainments movies. I have watched some absolute b****cks movies from them but also some hidden gems. Obviously its all down to opinion. Most of them are very cheap, Tesco is currently selling some of there earlier titles on Bluray for £3 each so may be worth a shot for someone who likes these kind of movies.
