This looks like a solid action flick. Like the cast. Been waiting for Tony Jaa to break into the english speaking market. I'll be watching out for this.

Perhaps to my detriment I am not familiar with Jaa, however Perlman and Jai White are always cool. But for me Lundgren is the draw.

Opens in Thailand on April 23rd, premiere on the 22nd. The Thai release should be quite big (200 theatres).

I don't agree, and I'm glad they did go for a gun-for-hire American director.

For years that he's been developping the project, Dolph Lundgren wanted to direct it, and then decided to focus on producing and learn the ropes for his next directorial project. John Hyams was considered for a while (and he helped Lundgren with some of the rewrites) but has his own stuff going on, but Dolph wanted more of an artist to helm the picture and subject matter (human trafficking) which he seriously cares about. Ekachai Uekrongtham is mostly stage director for big shows (the latest about Muai Thai), very savvy and knownledgeable about all kinds of films.
