These prices for catalog releases are out of this world. Good thing I have all these in their slip variants so I won't bother with any.

Agreed. I'm trying to stay away from foreign steelbooks. Had to bite on Drag Me To Hell though

I just don't get where Fox/Zavvi comes up with these asking prices. I understand inflation and all but this is getting pretty bad.

A couple years ago we got those beautiful UK Paramount Centenary steelbooks and unless I am mistaken they sold new for £9.99...and those were good catalog titles.

You're right Play used to be £9.99 or £10.99 for their back catalogue Steelbook exclusives. New titles were much more though.
Have their Prometheus Steelbook which I think was £22.99 but that was 3 disks. 3D + 2D + bonus BD

Given the Fox and Zavvi deal I wish they would do a Steelbook of Kingdom of Heaven's new 2 disk ultimate 10th anniversary edition. There's not even a standard release of that in the UK.

Like the Thor & Captain America steels, this is great for those who don't own the Play.com one, but I'll pass. They're pretty much just as good as each other (does this on have the bonus disc?)

It's released on the 8th of Dec, as for pre-order date I'd guess at this weekend mate, or during the following week

Always regretted not buying the Play Steel, often thought about cracking for £30-plus prices on eBay... I'll probably buy this, though I expect there will be something of a scramble to get it.

I don't think you'll have an issue getting one. As a matter of fact, I forsee this being in the bargain bin in a few months.

You're probably right about it dropping in price, but I don't think it will be around for TOO long (a la Copland).
