Hello, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. A year or two ago, I bought real steel on blu Ray. But U have a DVD player in the living room so I watched it with the family on there. Yesterday I decided to watch it again so I put it in the blu Ray and it plays all of the trailers but riht after there is the loading screen, the screen turns black and it stays that way. Anyone have any clue or anyway that they could help me? My blu Ray is updated and everything.

Did the blu-ray disc play ok in this blu-ray player previously? Assuming it did, it could be one of several things... is the disc damaged at all? do other blu-ray discs play ok in this blu-ray player?
The first thing I would suggest would be to try upgrading the firmware on the blu-ray player if possible. Also, try playing that blu-ray disc in another blu-ray player if you can to see if the problem exists on another player. Worst case scenario...the blu-ray player could be fizzling out on you. Try the firmware upgrade if you can. Check the disc for damage and also see if it will play in another blu-ray player. |

and if the disc is bad contact the company.
i recently contacted WB for two dvd's one was superman returns which i bought in 2006 and the other was new line cinema which i guess was bought by WB for blast from the past bought in like 1996 they are replacing both of them for me in fact they just made it back in the mail to me. took longer this time than last time when they replaced the whole charmed series after the issues with the charmed collectors set in the book of spells which resulted in a lot of scratched dvd's. ryan |

What brand and model is your Blu-ray player? Sometimes people have this problem if the Blu-ray player is connected to the internet because the disc tries to access internet based features upon loading. If you have it plugged into the internet, try disconnecting or turning off the internet features in the player settings (It's sometimes labeled as BD LIVE in the settings).

Also if you haven't tried it, disconnect the player from any network, and disable bd-live if you have the option. It could be trying to connect, and failing |

On my Sony BDSP5100 whenevr this occurs i have to go in a clear out the data. There is usualyl 2 spots for it. I am not at home so I can't recall the exact naming of the locations. But one of them is for each of the discs data/titles and the other spot is for the BD data (i think this might be the java updates). Usually have to clear both to do the trick.

I would try that disc in another player if possible.... to see if the problem occurs in a different player. It is POSSIBLE that another player could play it fine and for whatever reason your player just doesn't like that disc. It sucks, but is a fact that some players don't like certain discs. I've only ever had 1 time when a player wouldn't play a disc. It was a Sony player and a Disney disc. Updating the firmware fixed the issue for me. --Rick |
