Default Itunes question

Question so when I renew a digital code they always ask about doing it for itunes to. If I say no does that mean I can still use that code later for iTunes or trade it and someone else can use it?

Sorry, I'm not following you. By "renew", do you mean when you get a new code from customer support for an expired one? Or do you mean when you redeem a code on certain sites like Universal? Regardless, I'll try to cover all the bases.

Many codes have the ability to be redeemed at both a UV site and iTunes which can enable you to redeem a portion and trade the other portion away. XXXsdesdeXXX has created a list of what portions many titles come with which is located here:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=236721

Codes received from support may differ from that list in what they provide.

I think the best thing to do if you're unsure of whether a code has iTunes is to test it yourself using the method outlined here:

Someone on another thread mentioned about The Simpsons on iTunes having advertising in it. Is this the case with US iTunes, or was the poster mistaken? I've gotten a few series in HD iTunes from the Australian store and no advertising. I was looking at getting some series from the US store they don't have here like CSI, but if they have advertising I'd just stick with DVD.

Bit of a late reply, but yes the advertising is only on the US store, and it's only on current seasons broadcast on FX or FOX in the US and distributed by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. So The Simpsons, Archer, Bob's Burgers, Fargo, The Americans, etc etc. CSI is CBS/Paramount, so no adverts there.

Thanks for the reply, late or not

So do you mean then that when those Fox seasons are no longer current they don't carry advertising? Or that sticks with them from then on, so all the iTunes Simpsons ones season 20 on are blighted?

CSI was one of the ones I was wanting from the US actually, and the last season of Without a Trace. Not available here. Simpsons is available in Australia though, but I've not bought them yet.

You're more than welcome!

After a while they remove the advertising (or rather, point the US store to the same video files used in the Canadian, Australian, UK, etc stores which don't have advertising). I believe they removed the adverts from The Americans S2 once S3 got under way. Fargo S1 is still blighted, but once S2 starts airing I imagine S1 will be changed.

Cheers. That is very weird. I have a couple of seasons current that I haven't even looked at (Castle 7 and Modern Family) but I'm not up to them yet. I should check see if they have adverts in them in the Aus ones...

My goodness I just can't believe it. And you pay like $40 for a seasons of The Simspsons and they have adverts...

I hate the advertising parts of them especially since you are already paying for them.

it bugs me that the AppleTV Fox shows have all those ads. I wanted to watch some of the Simpsons and was sickened by all the ads. especially the ones that were a bit risqué that I did;t need my kids watching those when they just wanted a cartoon (and I was tired of the Disney and PBS shows)
