Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and Scalps are just around the corner for blu-ray releases

These releases will also be limited with only 1000 planned for Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers.

This is amazing news, hopefully if these sell well more will be released including classic B films like Dinosaur Island.

Also just found out that there may be signed editions of these films, not sure by who, it was a little vague...but if i can get a copy of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers signed by Michelle Bauer id probably faint lol.

More news from Retromedia:

Dinosaur Island is a VERY special case... it was shot in 16mm but edited*
on tape so there is NO film element to go back to making Blu-Ray almost*
impossible to ever be made.

We will be doing PHANTOM EMPIRE, ALIEN DEAD, ANGEL EYES, EVIL TOONS,*
WITCH ACADEMY and some others...

Too bad about Dinosaur Island, we cant get'em all i guess, Evil Toons will definately kick huge butt though!

Evil Toons and Alien Dead peak my interest.
So far those 4 (including Scalps and Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers) are really the only ones I'm hot for.

It's curious that Fred would only press 1000 of Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers; granted it's a niche title but I suspect he's under estimating potential interest.

Already have Scalps and Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers preordered from Amazon UK (88Films).

Would be interested in Bloody Movie, Evil Toons, and Jack-O if he decides to release them. Not especially interested in the other titles mentioned.

From Retro Media? Mine was a pressed disc. Non-anamorphic and looks pretty rough though, I'll be curious to see the bluray.

He said that was amount he was thinking of doing but wasnt sure if that was too few or not enough due to the current state of blu ray sales.

I'll probably go for those if the Retromedia ones do happen to sell out, and thats a big if.

There are actually a lot of 88 Films releases I'm interested in, like almost all of their Slasher Collection

Yeah 88 Films definately has a lot of good titles, and as far as i know theyre all region free, atleast theyre Toxic Avenger and Eskimo Nell titles are.

Exciting news! I'll gladly add anything Retromedia wants to release on Blu to my collection if I can get in on the limited release runs. Evil Toons, Scalps and Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers especially as my ex-wife ended up with ALL my dvds in our divorce last year and those were a few of the titles I was especially bummed about not having anymore.

I believe Bloody Birthday and Two Moon Junction are the only titles they've region locked so far.

Good news. I like the dark red cases of 88 Films' slasher series, but this could provide a more affordable alternative. Never heard of Scalps, but that cover is intriguing. I think 1000 copies is probably enough for niche titles such as these.

88 Films does miracles with transfers though. I'd pay the extra $5 for their magic.

im not 100% sure, but im willing to bet any Retromedia releases will be sold exclusively through their webstore once its up and running. its also possible Diabolikdvd would sell them.
