Disney Disney's Big Hero 6 (2014) Blu-ray 3D [Region Free]

Cant wait to see this next weekend. Too bad we most likely won't see a 3D blu-ray in the US

Isn't this connected to Marvel as well. So it should get a 3D Blu Ray release hopefully

It is connected to Marvel...your right mredman. There is, at least, a possibility we could see a 3D blu release in the states....we shall see.

The Marvel connection is that it's based on a Marvel Comic. However, this is a Disney release, not a Marvel Studios release, so there most likely won't be a domestic 3D-BD release from the Mouse. Best thing to do with Disney as relates to 3D is expect nothing, and if they surprise us it will be that much more pleasant.

Agreed.

The 3D here looks really good; high medium to strong 3D in Big Hero 6 based on the trailer anyway.

I can imagine this as an adventure movie. The robot's voice is something I'll have to get used to though. I haven't read the comic, so I have to see the movie to understand why the robot alien is an air balloon.
EDIT: Nevermind, just saw this is the new trailer, thanks!

The skit with the tape on his arm was comical. The part with the cat, I didn't know what he was saying at first. "Hairy baby". It would have been funnier if they had that scene near the baby's crib but they probably set it up a lot better in the movie for more of a laugh.

The armor suit he wears looks cool, and the villain, they will hopefully show another preview, but he looked like a promising villain.

Your absolutely right about Disney and there 3D practices.
I realize that it's a Disney release...but since it's based on a Marvel property...thought there may be some loophole that would give Marvel the upper hand in releasing this on 3D blu. Wishful thinking I know.

The trailer looked really good and this is poised to be a smash hit, it has a couple of weeks to dominate until Hunger Games comes out later in the month. It really appears that Disney has no plans to release 3D Blus in the US so this will probably be another one we have to go get from overseas.

It'll definitely be released in 3D. Saw it yesterday, the 3D was a lot of fun. The movie itself was fantastic.

Thanks> That sounds promising. What was your favorite 3D in the film; any scenes that stand out more than others? Is the 3D mostly consistent all the way through?

Big Hero 6 3D Review: Interesting, good movie with some interesting action and nice imagery and character design; great animation. Reminds me of How to Train Your Dragon quite a bit.

3D in Big Hero 6:
Medium 3D in most shots of the movie. High medium 3D during some action scenes. Generally good 3D. Didn't notice any mild 3D other than the intentional mild 3D of distance scenery. Well done 3D, but pales in comparison to Madagascar 3 3D and films like Thunder and the House of Magic 3D. A few nice pop outs could have been more exciting had they pushed the 3D into the strong range. The film's 3D also paled in comparison to the previews of Sponge Bob and Penguins' stronger 3D.
3D: 7/10 Good, but could have been stronger.

Previews:
Sponge Bob Movie: High medium to strong 3D. 3D looks great.
Penguins: High medium to strong 3D. 3D looks great.
(there was one more, but I forget what it was)
Tomorrowland (2D movie)

Tomorrowland's in 3D? Cool. The trailer is only the teaser where the girl is getting out of jail and gets a special shirt pin. Didn't show any hint of 3D in the end credit of the trailer, but I hope you're right.
But yeah, if the live action 3D is great, that would require an import no thanks to Disney's non Blu Ray 3D US treatment.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention the 3D "Feast" Disney short animation before the movie started. It was an interesting skit about a dog who ate people food and his master's girlfriend. Well animated. Medium 3D.

Saw this one today. The 3D was pretty cool, the movie was okay, was expecting better with all the positive reviews. It probably doesn't help that I saw Interstellar before this and that was pretty amazing. Wish that one would have been in 3D.

Here is a link to the Comic Book the movie is based on:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Hero_6
What's interesting is that in the comic, it's suggesting Hiro invented
[Show spoiler]Baymax the balloon health care robot, and not his older brother as in the animated movie.

Now Scar, that was a real villain from beginning to end and one reason to love the Lion King as a movie.
Big Hero 6's villain on the other hand, was just okay though the motivation of the character
[Show spoiler]should have been there from the start instead of hidden, since the payoff reveal of who it was wasn't much of a payoff since we could never invest in that character aside from the rare moments we saw them. I still can't believe this villain would do what he did based on the character identity we saw. Unless I missed something, the pieces didn't fit together right to explain his 180 turn from a caring teacher of the inventors, into a maniac killer who wanted them dead. Best not to keep stuff like that a secret in the movie, and instead, reveal who the villain is right away and develop why he's doing what he's doing (getting vengeance for the loss of his daughter against the businessman), as they did so expertly with Scar in the Lion King.

Same here. It's good, despite some problems with jumps in the character logic; The kid Hiro starts off as a robot fighter,
[Show spoiler]but we didn't really learn how he suddenly developed his great talent for inventing like with his older brother it seems. All of a sudden, Hiro reveals the puzzle tiny robots that form stuff at the convention. Did he first create that money winning fighting robot or did his older brother who created the Healthcare bot? If Hiro did create it, that would make more sense, but it would have been nice if the movie started off with him creating the prize fighting robot that would fight for money. Then it'd be easier to believe he could invent all of that other stuff so easily.

Good to hear Interstellar was worth it. I probably would have given it a chance if it was in 3D.
[Show spoiler]Just not a big fan of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_McConaughey as the lead role, as good of an actor as he is.
