Default Discs Not Delivered

Hello all, I pre-ordered all 5 Harry Potter discs from sendit.com and 3 of them either weren't sent in the first place or went missing in the post.
I checked at my local Post Office and they aren't there, and if they were sent then they should be, or they should have been delivered by now as they were sent on the 13th of November and other discs I ordered from them after came have arrived.
I have sent 5 emails to sendit.com and they have ignored all of them. They were supposed to be a Birthday present and I feel really bad now.

My question is what can you do?...

Where do you live?

I'm guessing somewhere in Europe, probably UK.

I have heard that SendIt.com is bad when it come to customer service. Hmm, if they don't respond. Then you should report them to a BBB-type office. (BBB - Better Business Bureau)

Thanks I will have a look at that now, do you know if they deal with the UK?...

I have just looked at their site and they're currently updating it!, bugger, I hope they can help because I feel like I've been robbed. Three discs at once really takes the biscuit. All the savings I've made by finding the best deals around have all gone down the drain now.
Plus I still haven't got the discs, and I can't order anything else off them now after this.

Maybe you'll get somebody if you make a telephone call instead of e-mailing them.

If you still can't reach anyone, then you should take action.

They are based in UK, so you should be able to contact a BBB-type office and see if they will help you out with the situation or not.

I googled and came up with this one...

How complicated is this!, after reading a bit on the trading standards site nothing seems to apply.
I don't think anything has been written for companies that just take your money and don't send you anything. Not that I can see anyway.

And I can't find a contact address for further help. I'll look in the useful contacts section.

Guys, this is easy to solve.

First you need to give sendit a bit of time. 10-days seems a bit short to me. I send packages internationally all the time, and I've had them arrive as quickly as 4 days, and as long as 4 weeks.

Second, document the various emails you are sending them. Once again, give them some time to respond.

Third, after say 20 - 30 days, dispute the charge on your credit card.

It wasn't an international order though, plus I received the discs they sent before and after the ones that have gone missing/were never sent.

I am keeping a copy of all the mails I'm sending them although I don't have a clue who to send them to after going around in circles on consumer help sites.

And I used a debit card, so I can't dispute the charges can I?...

thanks.

Oh, didn't realise it wasn't an international order. Nonetheless, the regular mail takes their sweet time sometime.

As far as disputing a debit-card charge; it depends on your bank. I have done it before with Bank of America and was successful. Unfortunately, since it is a debit card, it probably hit you a bit harder since this money is physically gone from your account. So although you may get it back after disputing the charge, it could potentionally take 30 - 90 days.

Regardless of what the outcome is; I strongly urge you to never ever use debit cards for internet purchases again. You simply don't get as much protection as you do with a real credit card.

And, if it makes you feel any better, I have only heard good stories about sendit. Yes, I have heard their customer support sucks, but I have never ever heard anyone actually getting ripped off by sendit ... I am sure its an honest mistake somewhere. Either on their end, or at the postal service.

I use these guys, I had ordered all 5 Harry potter's with them - the first 3 were not in stock so I cancelled those 3 and ordered with play.com, the final two were in stock so I ordered them on the 15th and received them yesterday.

Anyway, relax with the trading and standards stuff - if it's been 10 working days since you ordered give them a call and I'm sure they'll look after you. If they don't then get on to the trading standards people.

remember the UK is still recovering from the postal strike a few weeks ago, seeing as it's xmas they're already busy enough and services can be erratic.

sendit are awesome in my book. Free shipping and they have never let me down in the ten years i have been doing business with them. Formally they were blackstar. You should check your account online and see what has shipped and which are pending.

sendit are without doubt the best place I have ordered from to date. If I place an order with them and it's in stock it's usually here within 2-3 working days maximum.
Plus they're nearly always the cheapest for everything Blu-ray. But when 3 discs totalling over £50 ($104) go missing at once it ceases to be cheap or reliable.
At this point you really need someone to respond to you when you contact their customer services department. And when nobody does it's very unnerving.
Customer services should be providing reassurance regrading any problems instead of ignoring you completely.
I am very thankful to all the Blu-ray.com members that stepped up and provided that for me though, I'm very grateful.

That said, the problem at sendit does seem to be restricted to their online customer service department.
I just phoned them and I had a very positive sounding conversation with a representative and he is going to resend the missing discs. Hopefully they will arrive this time and even more hopefully, they get here before my Mums birthday.
