NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (Season 17) - Blu-ray Forum

With the exception of some of the season premiere, so far the current season of Law & Order: SVU has been very good. The episode shown on Universal Channel last night was excellent. Before watching the episode, when I read the synopsis it reminded me of a series best episode from two seasons ago, "Born Psychopath".

The second part of the three part crossover will be shown in three weeks time on Universal Channel (the other two parts won't be shown until the New Year).

The actor who plays new detective character Carisi, does he join the main cast in the fourth episode of the season?

I've been catching up.. almost up to the current season, I hate to peak over at IMDB but I hope they had replaced Mariska Hargitay I did not like her in the new role as being captain at all.

And the Lewis guy breaking out of jail.. I just looked at the picture on Hulu and saw the caption.. I was like WTF not again?? just kill him off.

I know, I mean I know it got good ratings but for all that crap to happen and he escaped? Seems too far fetched.

I was "forced" to watch the last SVU episode due to the crossover. It turned out to be really good. However just as it was mentioned before, I wish Benson would be somehow "phased out". This gives SVU a fresh start, it worked with the original Law & Order it should work too with SVU.

Someone mentioned Lewis, I don't know who this guy is but I think he was Benson's arch enemy. That particular loop made me stop watching the show. They just dragged it to unnecessary proportions.

the 2nd time they had lewis come back I was like ok.. but the 3rd.. was just just TOO MUCH, I was really going to skip it but just decided to watch anyways to see how stupid it was going to get.

Don't care too much about spoliers so I thought I'd peek. I've missed the past maybe 2 or 3 seasons, only watching here and there. I guess Benson's moving up. As for Lewis, I couldn't get through that episode, that's what killed it for me. Couldn't keep watching to catch up after that. But there's gonna be more

The 2 part episode with Willaim Lewis storyline was good but they stretched it out too much with having him return again.

Did Barba and Carisi appear much in the Law & Order: SVU part of this week's new three-part crossover, and did Warner (played by Tamara Tunie) and Carisi have much screentime in the Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. episodes respectively?

Chicago P.D's Lindsay and Halstead headed to New York City (Voight would join them later), as the investigation continued. Sorry to use a cliche, but the storyline got better as it went along. Even though there were too many scenes which weren't on location (this is normal with Law & Order: SVU these days), there were still a few scenes shot on location. Most of Lindsay's scenes were on a studio set, Halstead appeared in two on location scenes (day scene with Rollins and Halstead speaking to a female student, and a night scene by the river, where Rollins and Halstead located Lindsay's brother), and Voight appeared in two on location scenes (the first saw him and Benson go undercover as a married couple in a restaurant, and the latter was when he and Benson located the missing teenager).

The storyline kept your interest, and the ending was a good one which made you want to see how it would end (the suspect who was clutching the box of photographs, following the basement fire in the first part of the crossover was shot dead, along with the police officer who was standing outside his room at the hospital).

Chicago P.D. characters who appeared in this episode - Lindsay, Halstead, Voight
No Chicago Fire characters appeared in this episode.

The problem with Benson's character is she looks old. With Elliot leaving the show and addition of the other 2 detectives, there was a cast overhaul. But I don't know why they had to keep her there. I was hoping for a complete cast turnover to have a fresh look at the show.

I recently started watching SVU a lot more on USA. The only issue I have with this is they play the episodes out of order.

Hopefully they have Benson retire the end of this season and focus on the newer detectives. I do want them to keep Fin though, I actually like him

Law & Order: SVU is on a break now on Universal Channel, probably until mid to late February (based on the last few seasons). The last new episode they showed was "Spousal Privilege". The "Chicago Crossover (2)" episode aside, have watched all the episodes up to and including "Spousal Privilege".

Yeah, I have to say that I prefer the earlier episodes too when Olivia, Elliot, Fin and Munch were all together and Cragon was captain. The newer ones...I just don't care for them. Btw, how long has Cragon been gone from the show? I liked the three part episode with Olivia and William Lewis that was REALLY good which was before he left.

Also, I wanted to ask who do you prefer more as the D.A Alex Cabot, Casey Novak or Barba? Personally, its a tie between Alex and Casey. Though I would say that I like Casey more.
