As much as I love Star Wars and am excited for the new film, I think Avengers will pull ahead. It's got a more loving fanbase right now, and it'll undoubtedly conquer the summer box office. We gotta wait for December for SWVII, and by then I think people will become ambivalent, especially with so many Lucas and Abrams haters out there.

I doubt I even see The Avenger: Age Of Ultron in the theater but will see Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Still voted for The Avengers though.

The internet has blown up with tons more buzz from the Star Wars teaser than it did with the full trailer of Age of Ultron. I really don't see Age of Ultron doing the kind of numbers that the first movie pulled in, and I don't think it will be as well received either. I think it will be close though.

Avengers has little to no buzz and it opens in six months. Star Wars has more buzz and it opens over a year from now. Disney will be happy with both, regardless.

Star Wars, not doubt. Original cast, returning to a galaxy far, far away will be more exciting for many. As much as I can't wait for Age of Ultron, we've seen The Avengers before, and the money will make money, but seeing the original characters in The Force Awakens and doing a sequel to Return of the Jedi is just going to be more exciting. People will turn out in droves for it.

I think it will be close between SW and Avengers, but I think SW beats it out.

Sucks to be Disney right now.

Both are guaranteed billion dollar movies, but I voted for Avengers to squeak it out with the huge overseas strength of comic movies lately (particularly Marvel Studios).

I wouldn't be surprised to be wrong though, as Star Wars will steam roll anything that dares to open within a month of it.

1. Avengers: Age of Ultron
2. Star Wars: The Force Awakens
3. Furious 7
4. Bond 24
5. Mission Impossible 5

I think Star Wars will finish closer to Furious 7 than it will to the Avengers. The key will be the casual fan and their potential reluctance to see Star Wars because of the bad taste still in their mouths from the prequels. Don't under estimate the Fast and the Furious franchise, which has gotten more popular with each installment. Fast & Furious 6 made almost $800 million, so I would expect Furious 7 to at least exceed those numbers.

I don't know about anyone else, but I watched the Star Wars trailer twice and was excited, however I found no need to go to the message boards to see what everyone was thinking. When the Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer was released, I watched that too many times to count, and talked about it for days. I like Star Wars just as much as comic book movies, but I think Marvel has more good will based on their past history, which is what will put it over the top at the box office.

I don't care how it plays out, I'm just looking forward to one heck of a year .

an important specification:

are we judging by what movie will make the most money IN 2015, or which 2015 film will make the most money at the end of its run? Because everything except the first week or two of Star Wars' gross will come in 2016.
