Discotek Media has announced that in 2015 it will be releasing the film Lupin the 3rd: Jigen's Gravestone (2014) on Blu-ray and DVD. A new English dub is being commissioned for the title. The original Japanese track with English subtitles will be included as well. Further details to be revealed in the future.
Synopsis: A spin-off of the series Lupin the 3rd: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine, Jigen's Gravestone tells the story of how master thief Lupin first partnered with his accomplice, Daisuke Jigen. The two make their way into the fortified country of East Doroa to steal a valuable treasure. Amidst a brewing civil war, they cross paths with skilled sniper Yael Okuzaki. Before a kill, Okuzaki prepares a grave for his target and he's got a grave with Jigen's name on it. Directing this feature is Takeshi Koike who served as character designer, and art director for the aforementioned series, as well as directing the hit Redline (2009). ![]() Last edited by Cat III; 01-10-2015 at 09:25 PM. |

I dont really know much about Lupin movies. My bluray purchases are also limited. Is this worth getting with a good enough replay value?

I haven't seen it, Sammy. It is streaming on Hulu. They even have the dub available. Lupin is not for everyone and there's a lot of backstory, series, films and whatnot to get acquainted with so I definitely recommend watching before you buy (Hulu also has a lot of the other Lupin stuff).

I have Cagliostro, which I like alot, and saw maybe 3 actual TV episodes many many years ago. I have lately started to watch more recent episodic titles via streaming and they can range from very good to nothing but unbelievably huge tits and panty shots. Not my cup of tea.

Thank you for the info. I just placed an order on Amazon. There are two entries in the database here, and wasn't sure if there were two different releases.

Hopefully Discotek is in the process of bringing more Lupin III to Blu-ray. They announced Voyage to Danger on Twitter last week, so I'm holding out hope for more! ![]() ![]() |

Also, I forgot to mention, Discotek has been putting the slipcovers on the cases before they are shrink wrapped for their latest releases, so you should get a slipcover no matter what retailer you order from, since they can't remove it.
I know both Samurai Pizza Cats and Lupin III: Jigen's Gravestone have been packaged like that, so far. |
