Can someone confirm the 10 part documentary on the UK blu ray of Terrence Malick's film The New World is shorter (59:08) than on the US disc? (81:35) as stated on DVDCompare.net ?

Yes, I can confirm the documentary length on the UK Blu-ray is 59:08.
While it is 81:35 on the US one.
It seems the 81:35 length is exclusive to the US Warner edition as the French one is also 59:08.
Not even sure that the Alliance Canadian one has it (despite that Alliance usually had perfect copies of the New Line Cinema/Warner releases)

Thank you very much inderweltsein. I am in a Malick mood, and came to the realisation, I don't own The New World, extended cut on blu ray yet. I will certainly get the US release now.

Might want to hold off a little bit more, as it has been heavy rumored Criterion is releasing it.

Ok, nice. That would be more than welcome.

I have the Extended Cut of this on Blu Ray (UK version) but I remember my DVD version (which I've since sold) being the shorter theatrical version, which I much preferred. Does anyone know if the shorter version exists on Blu Ray anywhere as it's such a stunning picture that I'd rather that than DVD?

Can hit myself on the head now, waited too long. 2 months ago the blu ray was everywhere available and now I cannot find any copy for a normal price. Oop? Somebody has a US copy for sale?

Yes, alas, it became OOP as I reported in this post in January, some weeks after your first hesitations.

I send you a place where it is still cheap at the moment.
