I'm a big Taken fan. I even liked Taken 2 a lot but this was not good. It didn't really fit the storyline and overall just didn't work for me. A standard action romp. It even had 2 mysteriously exploding cars in it. The trailer was better than the movie. Too bad it went out on such a dull note.

I went to see this movie. It was quite poor, and there was one awful re-dubbed use of "f**king" to "screwing", so the obligatory Unrated Cut is no surprise, either. If reports are that the violence and action is substantially better in the extended cut (which I doubt) then I may give the BD a go.

I would bet they would go right from DTS-HD MA to DTS:X when available. |

After the turd blossom that was Taken 2 I was not expecting much out of this. Thankfully it was quite a lot better, while not as good as the first, it was a fun and pleasant end to the franchise.

Yeah I guessed as much, but after the recent announcement for Unbroken from Universal I did not think it was not out of the question, since it is jumping from DTS to Dolby for that particular release.

![]() ![]() In fact, nearly every studio has utilized Dolby TrueHD before on some releases worldwide, except for Fox. |

In the US though, Universal has always been DTS exclusive on BD as far as I know. I found them announcing Unbroken with Atmos as a surprise. Has Universal ever used TrueHD anywhere in the world besides that Atmos release you pointed out from Japan? I don't think I own a release personally from them with it. |

Don't forget, too, that Oblivion (2013) used TrueHD for the Isolated Score track, and that most of the Blu-ray Audio titles from Universal Music Group use PCM, DTS-HD MA and TrueHD together. On the other hand, in the entire world, I can only find one Fox-distributed BD that has Dolby TrueHD, and that is the Spanish BD of El Niņo (2014), which has a Spanish: Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track (according to the BDInfo scan online): ![]() But I don't know exactly what Fox's relationship to this title is. |
