Default Beauty and the Beast - Complete Series 1987-1990 (2014 RE-RELEASE)

http://www.amazon.com/Beauty-Beast-Complete-Ron-Perlman/dp/B00L9CDUAK/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1421190638&sr=1-2&keywords=beauty+and+the+beast+tv
I just found out about this, which was released in past November.
I love the show and was hoping for Bluray, but anyway..
has anyone got it?

This re-release of The Complete Series will be a 15-DVD set (leaving out the bonus disc which was exclusive to the previous complete pack, but including all the discs found in the originally released individual season sets) priced at just $39.98 SRP (less than half of the previous collection's ninety-dollar list price). Extras that ARE found on the new release include Episode Intros by the show stars

What are those intros?

Also, does anyone if this is subtitled in English? (or closed-captioned)

Well this is Paramount so I think it's safe to assume it is closed-captioned. I own the previous version and the a/v quality isn't all that. I'm pretty sure they used the same masters for this set. As for the intros, I'm guessing they brought Linda and Ron for a few interviews for specific episodes in the series... Maybe other actors as well but these two are the most plausible. If so, this is pretty neat.

I'm tempted to buy it, but I can't help but stop at the fact that they released this twice on DVD, hence they know there's money to be made with such releases. Once BD dominates home video, I'm sure they'll release this. Not sure how good the masters could come out though... Wonder what it was shot on?

Then, this would look glorious on Bluray!!

There were some Blurays announced some years ago by some company, but then they were cancelled!

Remember watching some of this series around the same time the last season of The Equalizer was originally shown in the UK (both series I think were first shown on ITV). I think Beauty and the Beast was another of those American series from that era, which had that 'shot on film, edited on video' look.

I can't remember which label released this on DVD in the UK. Was any music replaced, substituted or cut out on the American release?

What extras were on the bonus disc in the original complete series release?
