-An XBL app is coming to Windows 10.
-You can text or voice chat across PC and Xbox
-You can now record clips on PC (game DVR) and send them to Xbox friends or vice versa
-You can get XBL achievements on the PC
-You can stream your XB1 library and games to any Windows 10 PC or tablet after a 1 time pairing
-You can turn off the console from the PC app

The biggest news for PC Gamers aside from the Xbox Live App integrated into Windows (ugh) was that the big Xbox exclusives might be coming to the PC (starting with Fable Legends, which is coming for sure).

Today we announced that we are bringing Fable Legends to Windows 10 PCs, day-and-date with the Xbox One version in 2015. This means Fable fans running Windows 10 will be able to play against their fellow gamers on Xbox One. It’s the same game, in the same world, on the same map. Fable Legends is just the first of the major game franchises from Microsoft Studios coming to Windows 10 and we will have more to share in the coming months.

Not holding my breath for the big Xbox stapples like Halo, Gears or Forza (though it would be nice and would make sense in order to increase the user base), but other titles might be coming that way (Killer Instinct among others).

Was it mentioned if the X1 is getting a new OS redesign with W10? Haven't read anything about it but MS kept saying how they wanted everything to be the same and that X1 is included in that.

It's been heavily rumored for a while that there may be a refresh. Nothing confirmed yet but you have to imagine it'll happen.

Yeah... I don't care about streaming my Xbox One to other devices any more than I care about remote play on PS4. Just doesn't seem like something anyone I know would need. But I guess it's good if they're providing it for the people who DO have a use for that sorta' thing... whoever they are.

I know I'm dreaming, but I might actually purchase an Xbox One.

Streaming is actually a great idea. The Wii U is limited to about 20 feet in my house (my Asus RT-AC87U is probably affecting the signal). The wife would watch TV, but I will sit there and play on the gamepad. With Windows 10 and the Xbox One using you router you can go anywhere in or outside the house.
Also, with the Xbox One, you are not tied to a Microsoft gamepad like the Wii U. You can use any PC, Laptop, Tablet or potentially Phone that has Windows 10 on it.
Watching TV and playing a game at the same time side by side on the TV is good, but you lose some real estate when the screen is split. This will give you your own personal screen. I wonder if this would work with multiplayer and 2 separate computers or tablets? Player 1 and Player 2 would not have to share a screen!


I'm still waiting on OTA Tuner and DVR functionality or WMC Extender before I purchase an Xbox One. I'm not holding my breath. My 360 is starting to sound sick, but I might be able to get away with using just that as a WMCE going through the pass through.

I truly believe that with Windows 10/Direct X12 and Live going to PC's, the need for MS to produce consoles is getting less and less. With the revenue that MS will generate through Windows 10 and Live for PC, along with making more and more of their in house games available on PC (games like Ori And The Blind Forest, Fable Legends, Forza 6, etc have already been confirmed will be available on PC), I honestly don't believe it will be all that consequential for MS to even build a stand alone console. I could see MS going completely software and service-based and foregoing the hardware side of it. Why have the headaches of cost of R&D and manufacturing the console? Let other companies do that like Alienware, Dell, etc and simply rake in the cash from software and Live services?
