ps2 network games on ps3 - Blu-ray Forum

I got a ps2 game (phantasy star universe: ambition of illuminus) and I have a ps3. Now in network settings of the ps2 game it shows as ethernet adapter when I set it up, it connects and works, but did I set it up right? (using ps3 wireless)

Im also having an issue with the virtual memory card for the game and thought maybe thats what is causing my data corruption error (load failed). Its not corrupt though since after a certain amount of retries it goes through (load successful)

if you have your ps3 physically connected to the internet . a cable hooked up directly in the back of your ps3 then it would detect that. but also remember that a wireless connection such as a router uses an ethernet connection as well. run the game and if it takes you online then your fine. if not check your wires and run the ps3 connection test

I just did like an auto setup it seems in the network settings of the ps2 game itself. Says ethernet adapter, but it connects just fine. Thought maybe that was the source of the load failed errors with the virtual memory card with this particular ps2 game. I asked though in game if anyone was on a Ps3 and was on the new expansion of the game as well (Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus) and I had other people confirm as well they have the same issue with the load failed for the game using the virtual memory card. Sometimes it takes a few retries for it to go through and say load successful.

I guess it'll be fixed eventually since its a new expansion ps2 game.
