Haven't seen the film yet, but will definitely be getting this when it comes out!

It does seem that full MFRS retail prices for 3D BDs are astronomical. I'm sure the price will be sub-$30 for US 3D BDs on release date. Same for Exodus etc.

Sponge Bob raked in an ocean of $$$ at the box office.

Nice.

That cover looks awesome. Hopefully they stick with that cover instead of changing it. The poster art is often the best art, but they ignore it for most home video releases.

How did the 3D hold up in Spongbob 3D? The trailer looked high medium to strong 3D. Very nice.

The 3D wasn't good imo, it looked ok in the surface but didn't look like it was actually making a difference.

I took my kids to watch the movie, I think the show was a lot better than the movie.

well I had the complete opposite reaction to this - to me this was better than the 2004 movie, it was funnier and the 3D was fantastic! I personally had a blast.

Thanks Optimus for that pic and info. Those Pez dispensers are pretty cool. It's sad they don't offer the same bonus with the 3D version, considering we're paying more for the 3D version anyway.

Took my nephew today. I thought the movie wasn't very good. I wonder to myself why the TV show can be so good but the movies haven't been very good. I think it comes down to doses, for 21 minutes Sponge Bob is a great, 90 plus minutes, not so great.

Anyways, the movie looks terrific I thought the 3D was acceptable with some pretty strong moments. I will pass on this come 3D Blu time because other than small kids I can't imagine this has much replay value.

Went to an advanced screening (comes out in 2 weeks here) today... I feel mixed. The traditionally-animated scenes looked amazing in 3D and it had some great story moments, but the movie as a whole felt confusing and overly-childish... Which is saying something for modern Spongebob.

Yeah, I was seriously going to see this for the cel animation in 3D till I saw the computer animated scenes take up most of the movie according to the trailer. Not being a big Spongebob fan, I held off.

That price sounds good. My 3D collection is satisfied so I usually only buy the movies I know I'll want to watch over and over. The rest I usually wait for a low price before considering.

That's my line of thought when purchasing movies also, although sometimes I will make a purchase on the day of release and quickly sell it if I feel I won't watch it again. as I did with Excodus GAK recently. That's a Fox title by the way and will probably drop in price just like Prometheus did .

Yes, quality over quantity.

Now that we have a giant library of 3D titles to choose from (compared to 2010's handful of 3D Blu Rays and the early days of stereo 3D TV, being more selective is the goal to save money since Blu Ray 3D is more expensive than regular 2D movies.

The 3D in the Sponge Bob trailer looked high medium 3D.

Defintely getting the 3d version. Didn't get the chance to see it in 3d in theaters. We barely had the 3d for two weeks when it was out.
