![]() ![]() Khuda Gawah Blu-ray ![]() This is the first Indian musical/action/melodrama/comedy/romance I ever saw, and it is still my fave. Unfortunately, the initial video release on widescreen subtitled dual VHS from Scarecrow Video is still the best; I have two DVDs of it, one from the bargain-basement Eros label which is non-anamorphic and not subtitled during the songs, and one on a label whose name I can't remember, subtitled all the way through and anamorphic, BUT it's zoomboxed, with info noticeably missing on the top and bottom. Ive heard of other DVDs that are no good because they're the cut version. Is there a proper DVD of this film that is anamorphic, subtitled all the way through, uncut and uncropped? I'd love to see a properly remastered HD version that uses the subtitle job from the Scarecrow VHS release, as those subs are a gazillion times better than the subs on the DVDs I have. I agree with prepress! The remastered version is the best available source of the movie. However, if you need the movie on physical format, look for the DEI-EROS edition of the film. Although OOP, you might find it in some not-so-popular stores or online retailers.
Here's a link to the review:- http://web.archive.org/web/201208110...&mode=&order=0 Also, visit this thread to get info on different editions of the film available. http://www.zulm.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9682 Hope that helps! |

^ Shemaroo released their DVD in 2009. iTunes is selling both HD and SD versions. This HD version was mastered very recently. Youtube HD trailer was posted in Sept. 2014. I just bought the HD version from iTunes Store. It looks really nice. Songs have subtitles too. Since Shemaroo has the rights, I think this is the best we are going to have. Here is a snapshot:

Yes, and all these are remastered for VOD and got under Shemaroo Premium Movies. Seems all these trailers are made for review/to encourage, so that people can see the trailer before order. There are more trailers which are specially made for the same purpose.
But as we already got few old titles released by Eagle all those were processed/remastered by Shemaroo. So may be there is possibility we may get all these titles on BD soon by Eagle. |
