Seems this Bluray has been released in many countries, but there has been absolutely no release regarding a US release date.
Does anybody know anything about a possible release?

Looks like Radius/Weinstein has US rights:

I don't think it ever got a US release. They're known for buying many films and only ever releasing a few. Witness:

I wouldn't hold your breath for this to get a US release, I'd import it if you really want it. Looks like the German disc is region-free.

It's a thriller about a white cop and a black cop in South Africa, no connection to the 1964 film, just the same title.

I think IMDB defaults to putting the current year in for unreleased films like that. Again, I wouldn't hold my breath, unfortunately.

There have been some front office shakeups at Radius lately (the head of the label left over disputes with Harvey and decided to start his own label instead) so don't hold your breath on a forthcoming release.

Even if it's released, expect a contractually-obligated number of theatres followed by a Netflix premiere.

Just watched the German disc. It defaults to German, but when English is selected it provides forced English subtitles for the Xhosa/Zulu/Afrikaans dialogue (no idea how good of a translation it is, considering it isn’t a disc for the English speaking market, but I didn’t notice any grammatical or typographic errors.) Also no reversible cover.

DVDCompare claims the Making Of featurette runs 26:07 - it’s actually 4:12. The interviews with Bloom and Forest Whitaker are English, but Salle’s contributions are in French with German subtitles.

DVDCompare claims the Orlando Bloom interview runs 18:42, but this is false. It’s actually 9:40. It’s entirely in English and insightful, although the film clips are the German dub, and has burned in German subtitles.

Is the film any good? I figured it couldn't be when it never got distribution here. I was curious because Alexandre Desplat, one of my favorite composers, scored it.

Yeah it’s fun and Desplat does a good job, wouldn’t call it great or memorable but I enjoyed it. For fans of Orlando Bloom, it starts with him bare ass naked so that might do it for some people.

This was easily found in Poundland a couple of years ago. I remember it being mildly entertaining. Not sure how Bloom survives the beatings he gets but whatever.
