It would be fantastic if it were remastered but I don't think that it is though. Hopefully, all the extras are available but in their own section on the disc. NOT set up like the Skynet edition!!!!

$5 says it's a new cover, a UV code, and one of the existing discs. The big questions is, Skynet version (probably), or get rid of really old stock?

I'll take the first 1000 bets! I got the old discs, you get anything else. Packaging and swag/fluff don't count, just what BD is in it.

I hope I am wrong, but I get the feeling we're not going to see a T2 remaster anytime soon given Cameron's other projects (Avatar sequels). I've heard a small rumor that a remaster was completed, but no evidence or reputable sources for the claim.

If only Terminator 2 was of the same magnitude as Totall Recall so that Studio Canal would be willing to do a 4K restoration.

Yeah, there's never been any official confirmation (or unofficial conformation from official sources, like when Van Ling spoke of the Lowry T1 remaster), just rumours.

Still, we know Abyss has been done because it's on Lowry's, sorry, Reliance's site, it was mentioned as a 4K remaster on the bio of that colourist whose name escapes me, and it's even been screened on TV. But T2? Nada.

The remaster of the first Terminator film didn't have a massive announcement IIRC.

Will keep an eye on this one in the mean time

The first and only announcement was the play.com Steelbook in the UK and the words 'brand new digital master'

that was it in terms of PR lol

I don't see this happen either for a long while. Terminator 1 license is in hands by MGM/FOX. T2 is different story.

It is likely a reissue just like the other films recently reissued with a UV code.

Lionsgate just dumped repackages of First Blood and Basic Instinct, as well, so yeah, signs point to it being another one of those.

Same here but what is the point in them doing a reissue when it makes sense for them to do a good remaster which will sell more copies.

Not enough more copies to make a difference. If it gets it back on Walmart shelves, they will sell copies. That's all they care about.
