Definitely upper tier. The score is really old school, and some of the camera work, including some 360 degree pans, is eerily effective. I hope we get a commentary.

I'm holding off on a pre-order until we get more details. I prey this don't just get a lazy generic amaray release. Looking at my other Anchor Bay titles they're all bland and uninspiring.

I loved this movie, I want a really cool release.

Being Anchor Bay I can't see it getting a slipcover or much in the way of extras. Hoping for at least a commentary and some BTS featurettes/interviews. Above all, a stunning transfer and audio track.

The dvd will probably have a slipcover, that seems to be AB's new thing. Not sure why they do slips for dvd and not BD. Great flick, went out to catch it last night. It almost lived up to the hype!

I know the director of this movie. A couple of my friends acted in his first film. Happy for his success.

I agree completely. I compared it to the original "A Nightmare on Elm Street" in a lot of ways in the Movie thread. The film has an almost dreamlike quality about it at times along with an invisible enemy, a young cast, absent parents, great Synth music, some older style camera work as you alluded to, and just a foreboding prescence about it. We know something bad is going to happen.. you just never now when.

Been hearing about this movie for months, it's driving me nuts that I still can't see it cause I don't live in a major city and it's not on VOD. Kind of like Duke of Burgundy! Drafthouse are saints for putting "Spring" on VOD at the same time as the limited theatrical release.

I'm guessing the release date on this won't be for months, huh?

They just added it to 1200 more movie screens yesterday, is there no one close by in Wisconsin that got it?

Wow, didn't know it went into a real release, it must have had some incredible success on the limited route. Yes, now they do have it within 30 miles of me! I will have to go see it. Thanks!

Happy to help! Like you I was disappointed when i thought I couldn't see it, but after hearing how it was being expanded I lucked out as well. During the first weekend it was open in only 4 theaters it did around $41,000 per screen, so it's been a word of mouth success which is why they decided to not do the VOD thing yet and instead spread to more screens. I had fun with it. It didn't blow me away like I hoped it would, but I thought it was a solid movie and one I'll pick up for sure. I gave it a 4/5 stars in the movie poll.

Technically, Anchor Bay is releasing this for Radius/TWC since they distribute films for the Weinstein Company now. It's possible it might get a slipcover, for those that are into that sort of thing.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, and I'm hoping it does get a lazy generic amaray release.
