Sweet! It's the cool U.S. art minus the stupid scrappy tin.

Yes, it is identical to the Japanese one. Head over to HDN, you will find some pictures there. It is a Media Markt Exclusive here in Germany. But maybe the cheaper version from Spain will be the same steelbook.

I'm looking forward to receiving this. It's been ages since I've seen any of the movies.

Metal hunter is right. There is no German trilogy steelbook available on Amazon anymore. Looks like it will be a regular case or possibly a digipak. If you're ordering from Amazon, do so on Amazon.es. Content-wise it's guaranteed to be identical to the German trilogy and likely also to the previous trilogy release. That means, however, that the Australian audio only comes with a Dolby Digital track but 5.1 whereas the US dub is DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0

Thanks for the info. Bummer about the German one, I'd prefer to buy from amazon.de (€3 vs €9 shipping from amazon.es). Oh well, maybe I'll still pick up the Amazon.es one.

What's stopping you? Even at €9 for shipping, the Spanish one is still cheaper and it's a guaranteed steelbook

I usually bundle with other steels so they will ship in a box. Otherwise they send them in mailers and half the time they arrived damaged. Guess I just need to find more Spanish steels if the shipping cost doesn't get to crazy.

Okay, that makes sense. I ordered the Interstellar digibook individually though and the packaging was adequate and the item undamaged. Spain to Germany on the other hand is not that much of a distance logistically speaking. I pre-ordered the Spanish steelbook so if you like I can make a picture of the packaging when it comes in. I don't see why they would use a different one for sending it over the Atlantic. I do appreciate that they use "real boxes" within Germany though when I order steelbooks. It's called stress-free packaging.

Yeah transit time seems to be about 2-3 weeks to get to the US so it is a long time to be bumping around in the post. I don't want to trouble you with a photo, but hopefully they will use adequate packing for this. Nothing worse than ordering an LE steelbook and there's no stock left to replace it if it comes damaged.

I don't know why they don't use boxes more often when shipping internationally, I bet it would cut down on Amazon's expenses to replace them...?

No trouble, redphoenix. The steelbook should be here by ~May 21. I'll keep you posted. You're right about boxes for international shipping by the way. Who knows why they don't do it.

Update:
@redphoenix: Looks like I got this even sooner than expected. I did a couple of pictures while unboxing the steelbook
http://www.abload.de/gallery.php?key=kNXcNktx

No damages or dents, the sleeve features Spanish text but the Steelbook itself has English writing on it. I'm quite satisfied with it apart from the fact that the design on disc 2 kinda steps out of line while disc for part 1 and part 3 share a similar b/w look and the disc number on them. I wonder if the individual steelbooks have the exact same disc design but I'd assume so.

By the way, the German one that's exclusive for MediaMarkt seems to be sold out already. At least it's not available online anymore: http://www.mediamarkt.de/mcs/product...html?langId=-3
