When was this added? I've never seen this on the shelves and neither JB HiFi, EzyDVD or Screenpop's sites are listing it? What's the deal? |

It got cancelled because they couldn't secure the rights.
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=110 Very disappointing, but i'm sure someone will release it soon enough. |

Word remains PJ wants to do these himself.
How good would a PJ boxset be with Bad Taste, Braindead and Meet the Feebles in glorious HD? |

So "Braindead" on the box but "Dead Alive" on the disc. Typical.
![]() I would be in for a Peter Jackson "Gore" box set. I know Jackson prefers the shorter version but I'd love it if both were included. Looks like I'm still hanging on to my ex-rental tape until then. |

Anyway, if we get a proper Peter Jackson approved remaster - then it's no great loss. |

Yes, don't tempt Shock into using a local release print. Dating back to 1992-1993 it's gotta look rough-as-guts by now.

Enjoyed this flick, but it started getting repetitive after a while. Still, even with a minor nitpick as that it's well worth watching.
The Nazi doctor scene made me chuckle. |

There's a blu-ray of this from Spain. Does anyone have an opinion on it or know how it compares to the US Lionsgate release? Just based off of this site's information the disc from Spain seems to have a higher bit-rate..

Blu-ray Grand Duke

It's almost certainly a bootleg, probably a rip of the LG disc or an HDTV capture. Still, might be better than whatever DNR atrocity Jackson would have it look like if ever officially re-released. |

By the specs it's a 1080i50Hz of the longer cut, so not a rip off the LG disc. Definitely a boot though.

Ah yeah that's correct, plus the original title makes that even more obvious. Shady as it is, it's a better option than getting scalped for the LG disc or waiting forever to be disappointed.

I know that the specs on this site and over at dvdstorespain list it at 104 minutes, but the back cover states 93 minutes... https://dvdstorespain.es/en/films/89...022327122.html Edit: German ofdb.de confirms the RT as 92:58 interlaced... https://www.ofdb.de/fassung/18,504429,Braindead/ Last edited by Erasmus Craven; 06-30-2025 at 09:49 AM. |
