Definitely picking this up. Saw it at the BFI IMAX last night and it's off the hook!

Been told by more than one reviewer to see this in 2D if possible. A shame they don't ever have a 2D IMAX option for a 3D IMAX film, but I guess this is a film that will punch you in the gut no matter the size of the screen.

I watched the first two Mad Max films in anticipation for this (for the first time). I enjoyed the concept and think the second built on the first, but this looks like another ballpark completely. Looking forward to seeing it over the next few days (as well as Tomorrowland).

I watched it last night. I left with that yucky morning taste in my mouth. My jaw must have been on the floor for the whole movie. It was stunning.
Never mind the Blu-Ray, just go and see it on the biggest screen you can find.

I hope that's tempt artwork. Of all the lovely posters doing the rounds for this, it'd be a sin to use such a shit cover.

Almost certain this will get a steelbook, but I hope there's a non-3D exclusive somewhere (maybe a slipcover or something). Itching to see this now, after hearing Miller and the cast on the Cannes panel.

Why? It was a conversion.

EDIT: I don't even think it was proper IMAX either... why people don't research this stuff is beyond me.

3D conversions can be nicely done too, and a good IMAX blow up can also be nice.
You surely understand how people might actually know this stuff, right ?

Not really.

Personally, I hate conversions and I dislike 3D. IMAX is good if it was filmed that way.

Christopher Nolan gets me

BTW I've lost count of the forums I've seen where people were like "Eh? It is a conversion" etc.

Agreed.

It's happening a lot now a days with big films getting such horrible BD/DVD covers, Kinsgmen and Chappie being some recent examples of that spring to mind.

That being said i hope this gets a steelbook.

I think Miller has gone on record saying he prefers the 2D versions, which was also the version that was pre-screened to critics.

The 3D in this was stunning, as was the movie. I'm seeing it again today. Love the old school pop out shot near the end. Can't wait to get this on 3D blu!

If you actually watch the Cannes panel, he doesn't state a preference for either. He obviously had to oversee the 3D conversion, so put a lot of effort into it - much like Guillermo del Toro's stance when converting Pacific Rim. Whether you see it in 3D or not, it's up to you and your stance on the format. I personally would like to see it on as big a screen as possible, which locally is an IMAX screen, but they are only showing it in 3D IMAX - so when I do see it, I will see it in 2D. More than a few reviewers I trust recommend seeing it in 2D over 3D.

Thanks for posting this, people just keep making up that Miller has said he prefers the 2D version, of course without providing any evidence of it.
