Default Jurassic Park Collection Digibook (UK)

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Juras...lu-ray/128618/

Nice addition - managed to grab t for £11.99 from base.com (gone up again now)

The digibook is blu ray sized (just to mess everyones collection up!) and comes with a slip case

It would appear the USA slipcase is alot better than this flimsy cardboard one as its embossed and spot glossed but at least the book itself has some protection

I would add pics but it appears you cant host on here unless the photo is tiny?

Is this a digibook or a digipak?

I think the US version is a digipak housed in a slipbox.

Both are book-style packaging with disc slots. Like the US Alien Anthology, Star Wars Saga, Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection, etc..

To me this is the type of packaging I expect to see when I hear Digibook.

Anyways a TRUE Digibook release for even just the first Jurassic Park movie would be awesome! Just a gorgeous plain black cover with the red JP T-Rex logo on the front would look amazing! I'd maybe even double dip for that if it happened.
Dangit I got excited too until I saw the picture. Yeah it's not a true digibook, its a digithingy but not digibook.

In my definition, I consider this to be a digibook, not a digithingy

Its a book, it has pages, you turn them, it has a spine as a book does, the pages are attached to said spine

If its not a digibook its a digithingy? Awesome

IMO a true digibook is , the commemorative booklet includes writings, cast bios, and photographs that provide a nice tribute and look back on the film, not slots that look like pages to hold discs.

Glad my coined term of "digithingy" has caught on.

Can "digithingy" please be added to the database as a type of packaging!

Don't know who decided but according to the database the Bond 50 collection is classed as a digipak and it's a "book" with cardboard slots.

On the other hand the US version of Star Wars The Complete Saga seems to be classed as a digibook.
I'm so confused

Digithingy seems pretty accurate.

Does anyone know if the UK version is the same as the US version? Any differences...

No they are different but i cant recall exactly what! I think the changes on the book itself were tiny but the US slip is much better as its embossed and stronger material. I couldnt find a good condition UK one so took it back. In the USA forum on here there were a lot of detailed pics of the US version

Yeah, I heard the slip cover was thicker and embossed but from what I could tell, the book itself looked identical apart from the UK version have the rating on the front and the US version is clean. Oh and the JP 3D disc has disc art while the US version is silver...Not sure if there is anything else though...
