Default Baltasur Kormakur's 'EVEREST'

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by one of the fiercest snowstorms ever encountered by mankind. Their mettle tested by the harshest elements found on the planet, the climbers will face nearly impossible obstacles as a lifelong obsession becomes a breathtaking struggle for survival.

Stars: Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Martin Henderson, Emily Watson and Michael Kelly.

The Film will hit theaters in 2D, 3D and IMAX on September 18.

The premise/cast look great but I'm not sold on Kormakur. 2 Guns was OK but Contraband was a chore.

If those are the only two you've seen, you've not seen what the man can do.

Contraband suffers from the same things lots of movies like it do...being the...

"Sucky American remake of the superior original".

Now if he ever get to really do a "Jar City, American style"...I'm in without question.

Looks great. I've been fascinated with Everest for a long time now.

That's a great cast as well, looking forward to seeing Josh Brolin as Beck Weathers

Will definitely be one to see in IMAX. Looks real good. Was hoping Keira Knightely was going to play one of the expedition members though.

Actually looks pretty decent. Should be quite a sight to behold in 3D.

Looks like better-than-average, Hollyweird, mundane, city destroying intensity. I'll check it out at some point.

I didn't notice her in the trailer, but I IMDB'd it and there she was.

If I wasn't sold before, I am now.

I did see her. She was in the bed talking to Jason Clarke on the phone. I knew it had to be her.

There were plans for this back in 2010 (Overture Films was set to make it after Let Me In). Then Starz sold Overture to Relativity but held on to the film library.

But maybe we'll see it in a few years as Starz is returning to wide release fare next year.
