Robert, I'd be happy to crawl there on my hands and knees, but it's coming pretty soon, and I'm probably not going to get past the Rockies by game day. Especially if the same grizzly bear I met last time still has an attitude problem.

Will this one have a video/Web feed like last year? That worked out great.

Honestly Robert, I’m kind of sad to see that as I watched parts of the livestream video from your last shootout and I really liked the *Mom and Pop* setting of your place in Scarsdale, e.g. hors-d'œuvres, refreshments, laid-back atmosphere, etc.

It gave viewers (at least me) a warm, cuddly feeling to the gathering (kind of like the HPA breakfast roundtables) rather than so many of the formalized demos or conferences available on YouTube, vimeo, etc. After the practiced canned speeches from last year’s shootout, I especially liked the Q&A part driven by your audience in attendance, as I found the answers from your guest speakers (although they not always knew the answer – which is an excellent thing to admit to, rather than spewing out superficial nonsense) to be extemporaneous and genuine. In fact, as an aside, many of the presentations and discussion topics at HPA have their origins in what the attendees want to hear about, not what the organizers desire to have the attendees lectured on. I hope at least the Q&A part of your past event not only carries over to the new venue but flourishes with the same vibe.

Also, since I would assume your speakers receive an appearance fee or some sort of compensation for their services (even if only to garner further awareness to themselves or companies, which could lead to profit), I would like to hear some ORIGINAL information from your speakers, not rehashed info that has been gleaned from original work by other people like Scott Miller, Daly, Demos, Long, Fairchild, etc. who have already presented and written on such topics with greater insight and in greater detail as original investigators.

In other words, have them bring something new.

Thanks for the very nice replies and likes!! I love the event and every year at CES's January convention I begin thinking about which new displays will possibly be included in the upcoming Shootout. As the year moves along it's fun to see the TVs come to market and for us to begin the pre-evaluation testing to finalize the contestants.

BTW, none of the presentations are scripted, but we do follow the SMPTE and ITU test patterns and content that exploits the good and bad in each element of picture performance and quality. So it's kind of an advance video educational class with a traditional instructor with multiple displays to show our presentation materials and to critically evaluate the displays.

We have not completed the schedule, but the show hours are Wednesday, June 24 from 11am -5pm and Thursday, June 25 from 9am - 3pm so no nighttime hours.

I'm sharing the TV Shootout exhibit hall (The Altman Room at the Metropolitan Pavilion) with Joe Kane who will be presenting and demonstrating HDR and Mark Walrep who has a new Hi-Res Surround Sound system demonstration so my Shootouts will be interwoven between the three high-end a/v events.

The Altman room is like a mini exhibit hall within the Metropolitan Pavilion. The main room is 48' x 45', plus we have our own private men's and ladies restrooms, a beverage room. Fun, entrainment, learning and some very high-end audio and video performances will be enjoyed by all who attend. Come and be a part of determine "Who makes the best TV for 2015"

Looking forward to seeing many of you at CE Week and our 2015 Flat Panel TV Shootout and for Joe Kane's HDR and Mark's Hi-Res Audio demonstrations!

-Robert

Robert

Thanks

I bet you have been working long and hard getting the sets to CE, hung, calibrated and ready. And then a glitch. Stressful

Hope to get the streaming up by our opening TV Shootout; today, June 24th at 11AM EST, which is the first of five scheduled TV Shootouts at CE Week NYC over the next two days.

Yesterday, I was a speaker on one of the 4K TV panel discussions, was also interviewed by Scott Wilkinson and delivered an exclusive preview of our 2015 TV Shootout to the press.

All in all a great day and today starts the actual TV Shootouts!

I'm just putting up some photos on my website. Take a look at day one.

Can't wait to be there tomorrow. Even though I've enjoyed going to the town of Scarsdale (it's a beautiful town which is very quiet and lovely), having this years event in my backyard (Manhattan) is awesome (costs me much less getting to it).
